This person must not have been born blind to speak of the color greeen. Or he/she was told that plants are green. I like that you show that you can 'see' with your other senses are stronger when you are blinds. I might try this on my next walk.
Congrats on your contest win

Thank you, DP, for your insightful comments and review. Yes, you are correct. I did not go blind totally until eight years ago. I appreciate your comments and review. Have a beautiful and blessed weekend. Hugs.

You're welcome. Do you miss all the different colors or does your mind give you pictures of what you smell, if you already have seen it?

Thank you for showing us how to "see" using all our senses to feel the warm spring sun and smell the grass and hear the rustling trees. You showed us that we "too can see through blackest dark."
Congratulations on the win!!

I'm on my feet applauding this runaway winner, Leann.
Not only are you an exceptional writer, but you have the wondrous ability to teach that is gifted to very few..
In your poem you have taught the sighted to see through our other senses. The honeysuckle stanza really spoke to me since I love taking out the trash in summer and fall because I'm refreshed by the fragrance of the honeysuckle hedge.
This poem deserves to be shared beyond this site.
I have a vague recollection of reading about a boy, born sightless, who developed the ability to see his world through his own inbuilt sonar like bats or dolphins..
Congratulations again!
Stay safe healthy and blessed

Thank you so much, Julia, for these kind and encouraging words. I am really excited to receive this honor of a first place when in the site contest. it was a lovely surprise to wake up to this morning.
I think the boy you are talking about was doing echo location. I have heard of that, and even read a book to try to learn how to do it, but it is really hard! LOL thank you again for your review and comments. Hugs and blessings to you.

Ah yes! Echo location!
Take care LeAnn

Congratulations on your win, Leann. It is well deserved. You have given us all sighted people something to think about, and painted far more beautiful pictures than a camera could capture. Well done.

I suppose being blind makes one see the world in a different light. Those of us who can see, take the beauty around us for granted and look past most of it. Being blind sharpens other senses, like smell and touch. Anyway, thank you for sharing your "sight" with us.

Yes, that is true. The first time I ever "heard" a wall as I walked past it, it scared me. :-) Thank you for your comments and review.

Hi Leann,
This is quite interesting... at first I considered letting you know your photo didn't take or failed to upload but then reading further I was in for such a pleasant surprise. Such a gentle message conveyed in such a way as to get the sighted person to learn to "see" with their other senses.
Beautiful sentiment conveyed throughout with a unique perspective in this finely crafted work.
Best wishes,
Senyai
