What a sad story but you have to give him points for trying. I hope after this he loosened up a little and was able to laugh at himself. Well-written and tells a full story in very few words.

Truthfully, it was not meant to be sad. He takes everything in stride. I read this to him and he laughed remembering the night. We seem to have moments like this. Like when he sat on an I've cream cone.

Kind of a tongue in cheek sadness because it took a while to get that almost kiss. The first time we took our 2 newly adopted girls out to dinner, I sat on a taco on my chair.
