Hahaha. I don't blame you. The quince had to have been quite a surprise to your young palate. I like the way this poem seems to roll off the tongue with good meter and rhyme.

Great Rhyming Bill. Poems like this, I like to read out loud to see how easy it rolls off my tongue and how the rhyming sounds. This was fun and an easy read. Well done.

I hear you. There are some things that a kid should not experience before his palate is ready. It is a terrible thing for a parent to ambush a child's life and future with some nasty tasting dish. I bet she was laughing all the while your taste buds were screaming, "What the hell is this nasty stuff?"

I'm trying to think if I've ever tasted quince. Is it like a tiny citrus fruit? Great job with rhyming all four lines and telling a story whether true or not but it's believable. Best wishes in the contest!
