I remember those years and many men and women suffered with sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies, thankfully young people are better educated these days. I enjoyed your well written poem, love Dolly x

Yes, but unfortunately even with education, it seems it is still an issue in our society sadly. But at least there is more support rather than condemnation! thanks for stopping to read. xoxo

What happened to teenage mothers in the 60's and 70's was truly sad. Depending where you lived, the baby could be taken and put up for adoption, or she could be pressured into having an abortion. Either way, the heartbreak was forever. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you! I saw this happen to more than just one friend, but this in particular was my closest one. I lost her at age 19 to a freak accident so it doubly impacts my heart :)
