A very well-written birthday poem for a friend turning sixty, I will be an official senior citizen next year, in the meantime I just enjoy my under sixty status for another while.

Comment from Gloria ....
Yay! How can anyone complain about all the discounts that come with being a senior. Now if "they" can just stop with the head pats and baby talk they'd get a lot fewer scratches. lol.
Super poem, Christine and I imagine your friend Heather was thrilled.

A unique way to say happy birthday. I'm sure Heather will appreciate it. You have a stream of new penning, you must forgive me for being so slow.. I was amused by your poem, can't wait to see how you will feel about 70!

Hi Christine. I love this. It's so cute, wonderfully rhymed and has a super message. You've listed all the perks for seniors that I can think of and maybe more. Great tribute to your friend Heather. Marilyn

Christine--Once again, you dazzle me with your poetry. It is an absolutely perfect description of becoming a senior (I should know, I'm 62!). This poem was full of humor and a wink, all in perfect rhyme. Well done!

Such a fun poem that will make it more tolerable to hit 60 for your friend. Thanks for sharing. I'm 60 but not all those discounts are available to us here. It varies by store etc. I have to wait years for transportation discounts!

An excellent rhyming poetic happy birthday gift for a friend. Wait a few more years and you won't have to be carded for the discount. But the day comes, as it has for me. When you say, "senior", that title includes your children. It's been a while in coming. It's another thing to share. Yes, your words made think and remember. It's something you do often and again, A poetic job, well done.

Hi Henry Thank you for reading and at 65 I really don't see myself as a Senior LOL but sometimes feel like one especially on a cold morning Ha Ha. I love the sun. My kids keep telling me they are picking out my nursing home but I tell them I am having lots of SKI holidays ( Spend the Kids Inheritance) that shuts them up ha Ha Cheers Christine

Ah I remember my sixtieth so well. My wife and I shared a surprise party so well, with invited guests I hadn't seen for many years. It was a great day, and the amenities available are marvellous too, beautifully written in immaculate detail, a womderful tribute and gift for her, happy birthday Heather. Next...the pension, well done blessings, Roy
Suggestion "your glasses, keys (you'll) put somewhere"

Nice poem written has a birthday tribute to your friend who just turned 60. Your Rhythm and rhyme was very Timely and your thoughtfulness put into the words of the poem will also kind and sweet. It's nice to have a friend that thinks of you on your birthday enough to give you a card and maybe put a little something in it LOL
