Your poem is so sweet and so sad. Very well written with a very careful and well selected choice of words. The ending is dramatic and makes the poem what it is.

Thank you so very much for your kindness. Blessings

Apparently, the relationship did not last long from what I gather from this poem. In its brevity, you told a story, one that lasted five days.
Great use of word economy. You made each syllable count.
Good luck in the contest.

a romance poem with the romance in a different way - one where the flower was the ending, not the beginning.
Perfect syllable count. Good luck in the contest.

Good point, friend. Thank you for reading this.

Hmmm, sounds like a quick romance or infatuation. I like the title, it speaks volumes when added with the body of the work. You defined the time and showed a resolution to the beautiful beginning.

A very romantic and alluring 5-7-5 poem. Good description and imagery. Spot on syllable count. I'm curious to know why he didn't stay.

I think he didn't stay because he realized she deserved more than he could give... blessings
Comment from Drew Delaney
This is quite excellently written. It ends up being sad as he stays only the five days as the scent lingered. Such good imagery in this poem. Drew

Wow, that's truly a short lived relationship! I've had a few that didn't last much longer, or at least figuratively. Too bad we can't always have the positive attitude you have about it. lol.
Have a great weekend,
Rhonda

It has been said that some guests, like fish start to smell after a few days. The wise person never stays past the time when their presence starts to grate on their hosts. If you want to be well though of, missed and welcomed back, you must leave before you have to. The last thing in the world you want to have happen is to be asked to leave.

I love the artwork that you choose to go with your poem
It is a perfect match
The flowers colors are so lovely
You captured my attention from the start
That is one reason I don't care for anyone to give me flowers.
Thank you for sharing.
