I believe you saw a bear up there. Convincing story in a poem. Well thought out and nicely written. Good flow of rhythm and subtle rhymes. Cute poem.
God bless you always. Peace :)

I thought this was an entry for the competition. It will be a difficult one to judge.
Good repeating line, and as usual, you use your surroundings well.
Have a great day, my friend.

By joves you are right it does look like a bear up the tree. Great image and as great your triolet really complimented your image. I enjoyed reading this and then had to go back and have another look at the image. well done very clever triolet and image. Cheers Christine

Nice job! I saw the photo and thought, that looks like a bear! And you thought the same thing, apparently. Funny thing, in Goleta CA, yesterday someone looked out her window and thought, "is that a stump?" But no, it was a bear - lol. Safely relocated to the backcountry :)
I love your photos and poems - you are a keen and empathetic observer of the natural world!

Hi, Treischel,
"Up a Tree" is a nice rhythmic colorful little ditty. Triolets are a joy to read and you follow the form perfectly.
Your friend and colleague,
Preston

Hello Tom,
While I admit that the poems make me smile, and you always do a great job, I must admit that many of the stills are difficult to 'see', for me, at least.
I don't see the bear... I'm sure it's the way that FS recreates the still... and it's easier to see the real thing...
that being said, one doesn't need the still to 'see' the bear in the triolet.
And the triolet is written very well. and meets the requirements of the form.
good luck in the contest!

I thought it was too until I looked closer, it really does look like a bear, and you have really done it proud with this triolet, Tom, it's excellent, and it brought a smile to my face. You really take some lovely unique photos, my friend. All together a lovely piece of work. :) Sandra

This is another piece of animal fun in the vegetation. It works well in the triole form I think until the final two lines which I am convinced would sound bettere revered as in Ray's (Mountain Writer) highly modified triolet posted the other day. I don't find them easy at all.

Thank you Pantygynt. Hmm, that would throw off the rhyme scheme, but I see your point. Reversed would flow better.

Oh yes it breaks the rules but it would be reaslly effective, as it was with Ray's.

Hi Tom. Your sixth line has 10 syllables,
You could say, But no it's just a burl I see.
Otherwise it is a fine triolet and picture.
I should rate it four, but I know you will fix it.
You do find subjects for some interesting
pictures my friend. xx Nancy
