Good eye catching photo. Good description that paints a clear picture in my mind and helps me feel the impact of the words written. Good alliteration. I see nothing I would change in this piece. Good work.

With these sweet words and message, your Mother know deep within her heart and soul that you LOVE her unconditionally.
You are an awesome daughter with the ONY attitude one should have when addressing Alzheimers.
I did the same thing with my Grandmother.
I just smiled and laughed along with her and felt her LOVE..
Thanks for sharing..
Bless YOU!!!!!

Alzheimer's is a terrible disease and my first thought was how lucky you are that your mother still recognizes you.
You paint a vivid picture 'childlike innocence' - all the best.

A very powerful poem you've written here. Simple, yet profound in its simplicity. I can feel the pain here, and the fear...yes, I can feel them both very well.
You did a good job with this. Wow.

Oh, thanks for this. Still think of my dear Mother who was gone a long time before she actually passed on up to Glory.
Thinking of that movie (The Net)with Sandra Bullock and her mother with Alzheimers. But the love still there between them to whatever extent. Thanks for a lovely poem and the artwork was great as well.

Thank you Sankey...I'm sorry that anyone has to go through this terrible disease, just so sad...I am so sorry for your loss.

Hi Annie3 my Mother instructed us that whenever she got to that stage she did not want to go on Life support. She just wanted to be let go and to be with her Saviour in Glory. We are not sad we look forward to seeing her again some day. She had a pretty sad life mostly. Will be writing her "Megoirs" later (she was known as 'Aunty Meg" by a lot of people.)if I am allowed to write them on her behalf...but I know others have done that here so should be ok still putting it all together.

My mother wants the same...she wants us to let her go and be with the Lord. My mother lived a hard life also. She will be 86 in April. Of course we discussed this long ago in 2007. It's still hard for those that see these stages go by. Good luck writing her story, what a wonderful tribute to your mother. I look forward to reading it someday, take care

Don't think Mum ever descended to Alzheimers I think the dementia mostly came after she was already in the Nursing Home care.
I will have to get my book finished (haha would that ever happen?) then get on to Mum's stuff thanks for the encouragement.

You say in your notes that you Mom "is more precious to me everyday that goes by.". This FEELING comes across very well in this poem.
You describe the relationship between the Speaker and her mother best with such lines as "I see her face and she smiles back as I appear."
In this free verse poem I only question some of your line breaks which seem arbitrary at times.
