I have to admit, after reading this, I left with a smile on my face and a spring of joy and laughter in my heart. It's amazing the treasures you can find on this site when you look. Appreciate the sharing of the moment and the happiness you must have felt when writing this. Have a good and peaceful night my friend.

Everyday one wakes up alive and healthy, one should sing praises to oneself. Your well written poem shows an exuberance to life.

Hah, you sure are funny! I love it. Why not? Me! :)
This made me laugh ...
or the neighbor's dogs that bark too much
but have yellow, innocent eyes
Sounds like a dog with rabies! LOL
Goodness, thanks for the laugh. Lots of humor in this, as always.
Good luck. ~Yona

You and Walt.. made it all clear, beautiful, and the celebration of YOU goes on and on.
I love this poem. I love free verse, with some rhymes.
I love uplifting, happy poems.
You made this one truly a party.
Well done.

I haven't had one of those days in a while. The poem was up lifting and happy. Your wrote with a very thankful voice. The flow and the rhythm were great. Favorite line...I got on the scale and I wasn't as fat as I thought I was.
Great poem.

Visionary1234 - Just forgetful OLD me, who doesn't remember your name for sure, Sharyn, I think. Anyway I love your poem and see it's on the front page. Good for you. Sorry I haven't been around for a few days, but I've been fighting the flu bug. Still not up to par with head and body aches, plus still running to the bathroom. Kat

oh poor Kat - that flu will knock you out cold. Hope you're on the mend! (And hopefully this poem will help - it was a fun one). Bless you, as always - and big hugs for recovery!

I celebrate YOU. What a delightful, glad-I-got-up-this-morning poem. and yes, a cooperative scale can bring that feeling out in all of us. The art you chose for the poem was terrific, too. Great job.
