Great story. It took me in right from the beginning and held my eyes captive right up until the end. Can't wait to see what happens next! Very well done.

You can, my friend. You can survive anything. Not only can you survive, but I believe when you get past this, you will thrive, not just survive. In the end, you still have your so much. And, maybe, one day, you may even laugh at one or two of these episodes!
This is well written, my friend, and I felt your frustration, your pain and finally, your hope.
Hang in there, Carol. You are one strong lady!
Warmest regards, hugs and smiles, Marijke xxxx :o)
PS - I hope everyone is getting better!

Marijke,
EVeryone is home from the hospital, but my dad takes returns there today for a cat scan...the light is getting brighter at the end of the tunnel even though sometimes I am afraid to get too excited. Last time I did, the car broke down.

You are right it is hard to believe all this happened to one person. There is one sentence I do not understand. The "young lady" wasn't a day ? In anyone's terms. Do you mean lady.

Eliz,
And that was just skimming the top..even blew up two cars in one day...one radiator and one alternator. Guess I was trying to save someone else from having a bad day...just scooped it all up just for me. LOL Smiles, Carol

Jesus Christ ABOVE Carol. He MUST be helping you, I would have died, literally. I sit here now, someone wants to look at this dump, to HOPEFULLY buy it, and I am so tired I cannot get up to clean, the kitchen is only half-way painted, and both bathrooms need major work. IF the people are interested they wont' want to give us anything for the place. All I think about is my son and his trouble, yours, now, he sounds like a doll. I sure wish I could be there. I would try. But like many of your friends, just pooped out. I have moved so many times, the packing of just one box is an absolute ordeal. Bless you Carol, your house sounds wonderful, go slowly, it will be okay. Soon it will cool, and work will be a bit easier. And I hope and pray your husband, Dad, and your Mother will be well soon!!! I have had ivy, but surely not as bad as you. Boy... oh boy ... Thinking of you with love ... Susan

Susan,
Trouble seems to live at our doorsteps, huh? And aging doesn't help at all...what happen to the "golden years"....Like the economy, they crashed and burned. Wishing you well, my friend...Smiles, Carol

Carol, I would have reverted back to my old self for sure and done things I know I would have regretted. Your perseverance is commendable, and your patience definitely came from a different dimension.
As I like to say, the world and things of it would like to convince us of the hopelessness of the situation.

what a horrible thing to have to go through. You're a better person than I am, I would have kicked the girl out on the country road. Swearing drives me nuts. Great job.

Joy,
A big part of me wanted to drop her off in the country and laugh my head off as I watched her screaming in my rearview mirror...but it wasn't my nature. Smiles, Carol

"Impossible! I needed to get this house livable. Money was dwindling fast and poison oak wasn't going to derail this train." The bit about your dad reminded me of when my mom, well into her nineties would insist on ironing for me ... need I say more? "and wondered if I would live through it, especially when she kept ranting about her blade." This was sooooo shocking and actually brought a trace of a laugh ... only because it was so outrageous and I knew you survived!!! I must admit, the whole thing with Dan and his work surprised me but thank God, right? Your ending was more shocking than I could have imagined. You have really, really been through it. I hope writing it all down was cathartic for you and in the sharing, at least a few reviewers have been a comfort to you. It CAN'T possibly get any worse and remember, the pendulum has to swing back soon!!!

JUde,
I think God gave me Dan (regardless of his baggage) in return for all the hardship I needed to endure. His work is spectacular and we are accomplishing more in the past week than the past two months. Hurrah!~ Smiles, Carol

You poor girl! You have been through it haven't you? As my mother used to say, "when it rains it pours." I sure hope that things begin to turn around soon for you. Hang in there!

and so the wicked story unfolds.. and so beautifully written. I dont know that the story with the witch in the back seat was as vivid this time round, but good enough to pass on to your readers sis... So much to say in only a few hundred words... the story is one in a million and I am so glad you made the decision to write it down.. its the start of your autobiography, that should continue down the track as you actually move in,,, its a great ride, one which many will relate to because it is real.... good on yoou sis for starting the tale. luving it, many more hugs and happy heartfelt luv,, from your littler sis xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
and of course , still no 6's available, but you know i would have if i could have xxxxxxxxxxxx
