Hi Jan,
That must have been a shock to wake up to a flooded home. You do have a wonderful attiude about the situation because you know that Christ will take of you and your family.
May he blessed you,
Lynn

Thanks so very much for posting this. Not only is it well written, well told, and uniquely "you" in expression, it is a reminder that everyone needs. Things are just things. And the only people who can lose 'things' and keep perspective are those whom the Lord God has allowed to go through the storm with Him. (Perhaps the way Paul put it is better, "the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffering." I pray many rainbows for you and your family. Many blessings, Roberta

Thank you so much for this review. I have fallen way behind on answering reviews, having hundreds I haven't had the chance to respond to. Please forgive me for this cookie-cutter reply. If I don't do this now, before I post more work in the coming weeks, I fear I will never catch up! Please know I have read your comments, and noted suggestions and corrections. In most cases I have made the corrections you suggested! I deeply appreciate my FanStory friends.

Jeez, I am so glad I am a city girl. I could never live on a farm. :)
And I am very, very happy that everyone in your family is alive and well.

I am glad to hear everything is alright. Lyssa is asking if the animals and Amber are okay. I assured her they probably are. I am glad you can handle the situation with a sense of humor and perspective. I really could have been worse. This was an excellent post, Jan.

Please reassure Lyssa that Amber and all of the animals, big and little, are all doing just fine! :-) I have to put a letter in the mailbox for someone today! LOL
Thanks for the great review.

It's so wonderful that your son came back safe. Something like that really does change your perspective. I'm sorry about the flooding. We went through Hurricane Opal and had a lot of cleaning up too. It's no fun.

Your story has such a lovely and touching message. And so true, things can be replaced and compared to the people in your life, things really don't matter any more than a hill of beans. I learned this lesson a few years back, and since, I'm so much more relaxed and no longer sweat the small stuff, as they say. I really enjoyed your story and hope it gets lots of reads. Your voice came through loud and clear. Good luck with the drying out and I hope the rain holds off. (At least your computer has survived.) LOL, L.S.

Another story with a beautiful ending, Jan. You did a great job of putting things into perspective and showing how some things matter more than others, and when you look at your blessings, you see that the rest isn't all that bad. I liked your rainbow at the end very much. Just remember, as long as God is on His throne (and He always will be!) everything is going to be all right! :)

This is beautiful! A story of great faith! I am glad you have the rainbow of God as your anchor. When all is said and done, "things" do not matter. I am so glad your son is coming home! What a insightful read. Good job!

Wow what a powerful ending to your story Janilou. You brought tears to my eyes. What an amazing attitude to have. I don't think I would have dealt with everything so calmly
