Hello, PRETTYBLUEBIRDS!
A most delightful flash fiction offering.
And having owned and been owned by a number of felines in my lifetimes, I can certainly relate to the sentiments expressed by your furry protagonist.
And heaven help anyone who would lift a finger to hurt any strand of fuzziness!
Thank you for sharing!
fondly,
diane

Love it! Love it! Awesome feline tale here and I thought the main character was a child in the beginning but the ending is wonderful. As I am owned by two cats, they would approve of this tale as well. Your writing draws the reader in and holds her there and again. love the surprise ending. Best wishes for the contest.

Thank you for sharing writing prompt entry with us. I had fun reading. Being owned by two orange male tabbies, I completely understand this, only my two boys won't come out of hiding when anybody visits. LOL Good luck with this entry.

This cat knows how to play the game here and I loved this short story. Cats do not like interlopers and it is not unusual for them to misbehave when they think their nose is pushed out. I loved the dark humour here and I was entertained by this delightful story, love Dolly x

Wonderfully clever! I was imagining the narrator as a little boy right down to the Aaagh moment! Faultlessly and engagingly written, this is a strong contender for the contest and I wish you luck! Debbie

Thank you. I love to write about cats so it's easy to stick them in a story.

I really enjoyed the way this story leads you to envision a sweet young boy protective of his mom, and smoothly flows into a satisfying, humorous and surprising ending. I was surprised a cat is telling the story. Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you. Cats are one of my favorite animals, and they are excellent judges of character. I can actually imagine a cat doing something like this.

Haha! What a great story...I was wondering where it was going. Fred really did get his way and I'm sure it won't be the last time lol! I had a good giggle, well done!
Best Wishes

Thank you. I love to write cat stories. Cats are excellent judges of character and It's not beyond them to do something of this nature.

This is cute story and as someone who has a cat as a basic companion and think I'd kick out someone who hurt my baby too. The surprise is that we originate Ly that this was about a child. Cats like to play using their claws and teeth but they usually don't break the skin if they are playing.

Thank you. Cats can be vicious if they are threatened. Cats are an excellent judge of character, too.

I'm an old sucker for happy endings and this story couldn't have turned out any better, far as I'm concerned. LOL. Glad Fred got what was coming to him. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. Cats are my weakness and my strength. I have five of them, and they are excellent judges of character.

What a great story. I thought in the beginning you were talking about a little boy. Surprise it's a cat. What a genius you are. You fooled me and probably a lot of other readers.
Great job and good luck in your contest.
