I love Steve Wonder! His music was a big part of my teen years.
It's so interesting why there are so many superstitions. I think it's because life is so unpredictable and we have no sense of control. Humans made up superstitions to give themselves a sense of control of what could happen if or explain why bad things happen.

Another fine poem, Gypsy------and I think you've covered the biggies, you forgot, however, the superstition about never read this unless you're naked and you count to 13 out loud first!

Such things bring so much unhappiness. I have witnessed this truth first hand where people were led to being falsely accused based on superstition. Your depictions of many of these superstitions are vivid and well presented. I thank God that I was raised in a home made me aware of many of the crippling effects of superstition.

Very nice Free Verse poem for this week's prompt, naming a wide variety of superstitions and topping the cake with Stevie Wonder giving his take on the subject musically. Unique presentation with lines that flow smoothly even though they are unmetered. Only good things to say.

Absolutely right! Superstition ain't the way! It locks us into the past and has no logical sense unless you're walking under a ladder of course. I happen to agree with that one:)) Excellent theme for the season, as ever beautifully illustrated. Take care, Gypsy. Debbie
