Good for you. I need to do this too. I have a lot of trouble understanding if there is any background noise and my children are always getting on me to go get hearing aids. At home I keep this loud enough but I need them for being around people. When you don't hear and you hate to ask you start to feel left out.

It is a pity that our senses are impaired with old age and my hearing is not 100 present either, I am glad yours is checked as missing out on conversation can isolate us, a fine poem Patricia, love Dolly x

A good reminder. I have noticed of late that the television is up a notch or two from where it used to be... and then I will fall asleep and wake to it yelling at me. LOL thanks for sharing your thoughts.

This was a good nonet. I liked reading it. It reminds readers that hearing is such an essential sense to have and check on. Hopefully we can all keep our hearing as long as possible in life. Nice author note message as well.

An important subject. Some hearing aids sound so affordable, but I doubt if they would work for people with severe hearing loss. As a hearing aid wearer, I know it's important to take care of the ear wax problem. It can build up. You have done your good deed in bring up this problem. If hearing aid help, then wear them. My dad didn't want to wear his. Great nonet format. judi

My hearing has gotten very bad lately. My ears pop constantly. I know I need my ears irrigated and cleaned. I'm sure that would help improve my hearing. But you are right, hearing aids have become much more affordable. Congratulations on your improved hearing. Gretchen

Yes, that's good, both Elaine and I have unaided hearing so that's good, at least for our age, I've never had a hearing check, mainly because Elaine had one and she's ok, and mine is better, so I don't need one. Great write Pat, good job, blessings Roy

Wonderful news, Patricia! So glad that you got your hearing checked and that you are caring for your hearing. I can't get my mom to get hearing aids and I understand it takes a while to adjust to them. My husband loves his and can control them with his phone.
