Oh, I want to go to the International Fan Story Conference. Wouldn't that be something. I know that your story is fictitious, but I do hope that you own a 2024 Mercedes with passenger space as big as a living room.
I loved every word.

Nope. I own a humble Camry. She does, though, have mica chips in her deep teal paint job, so I named her "Sparkle Allen."
Thanks for taking the time to read this, Debbie; I know you have a million balls in the air right now, so your generosity is not lost on me for even the briefest of moments. xoxox

Ha! I also enjoyed this chapter; I know it's fiction, but it could be real, lol. Leopard skin and high heels, well, sounds like Rachelle has a point. This is a fun chapter and will go for the next one soon.
God bless,
Steve

Thanks, Steve. Just doing my Jewish Mommie double-check here: you read Gretchen's chapter, too? Reading them both enhances the experience.
Thanks for the fun review and the extra sparkler!! Xo

Well, I think I have, lol. I read a story of hers, and now I need to make sure, lol.
I'm almost finished with the next chapter, it's a bit longer.

Excellent! Thank you! xoxo I know it is not easy for you, so I totally appreciate your kindness. xo

This side of the story would have to be the best, since I believe I read Gretchen's already. The descriptions of the scene and the emphasis on one item or the other seems to differ in styles of making the readers interested in this trip.

I hear you. In my job as a piano teacher, I experience that often. The same song played by different students can sound/be interpreted so differently.
Thank you for the review, Bill. Very much appreciated. Xo

Hello Rachelle,
I just finished reading Gretchen's version of the trip. What an interesting concept. I look forward to the rest of the story. My wife and I took a trip from Kentucky, through Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. It was all on the interstate, so thought we saw some lovely country, I mainly looked at the bumpers of the cars belonging to the maniacs in front of me. We had a real life breakdown of the rental car in Hartford. Great fun. It's interesting to see how you each paint the trip.
Have a blessed evening.

Wow!! What inspired a trip like that, Tom? And, well, you know, with the exception of the breakdown in Hartford, everything you hoped?
So, no Amish country for you guys, though?
Thanks for the nice review - and I appreciate you caught that our two accounts are similar-but-quite different. That's part of the fun. (It's like when there's a broken vase on the floor, and the mom gets the stories of how it happened from her kids...)

Hi Rachelle,
We wanted to go to Kentucky to view the Ark Encounter- the Noah's ark replica. Jan and I grew up in Ohio, so it was natural to go there next. I have a friend I was going to pick up in Vermont who wanted to visit friends at Hatteras North Carolina. We wanted to see the Outer Banks, so that worked. I was also able to have lunch with a friend who spent time in Hoonah who met us outside of Syracuse, so it was a full trip, very satisfying. Unfortunately, we were on the move a lot, so no time to check out Amish country. We had Amish in Eastern Ohio. It's a wonderful life style if you can handle it I suppose.

Oh wow! What a great trip!!

This is either going to be an amazing road trip--or the basis of a really bad movie-of-the-week. I have to give you both credit for courage, as turning your first in-person meeting into a multi-state car-ride comes frighteningly close to the premise of "Married at First Sight."
As my creative writing class can tell you, I am the queen of turning my vacation horror stories into tales anybody (but me) can laugh at, but I suspect you're about to give me a run for my money. The image of you in a "form-fitting leopard dress, 3-1/2" high heels and broad-brimmed black-and-leopard hat" in "a 2005 dark gray Suburban with lacy filigrees of rust," and the prospect of your being rescued by a couple of Amish Good Samaritans suggests I'll be relinquishing my crown sooner rather than later. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment.

Hahahaha. Never!! You're always going to be the funniest writer on the site, no close seconds! Do you post those vacation stories here? I'd like to read them!! xoxox
-
I posted the one about my trip to Chichen Itza, which I still consider my funniest vacation story, a long time ago. I don't think I've posted my more recent stories. However, I'd be happy to if the proper prompt were to show up on the site. I don't post without prompts because I just can't review enough to get the proper number of site dollars to promote. Therefore, I only post where I stand a chance of winning some of those site dollars back. Of course, I do, occasionally, lower my standards and accept actual cash prizes.

Well done Rachelle. I love a story that gets me involved. Yours did. BTW, when I worked in Virginia, I often drove to Falls Church to visit a friend. Thanks much for sharing.

I had a friend there, too. Yours wasn't Gail Meaker by any freaky chance, was it?!

This sounds like a promising story. Have I missed any previous chapters? It needs to mention what chapter this is. I will watch for more of the story as it has caught my interest. I bet it is a fun story. Nice writing.

Hi, Pretty BlueBirds !
Thanks for reviewing. No, you haven't missed anything. You will notice in the description that it says "Prologue." So, Chapter 1 is coming on Sunday.
Have you "fanned" Gretchen (GW) Hargis, too? Because we are writing this together, and reading both pov's is what makes it so much more fun (and understandable.)
I will love to have you on board for this adventure!! xo

Fantastic start, Rachelle. This was so funny. I'm not familiar with Gretchen's work, but I will fan her as you suggest, because I wouldn't want to miss a word of this. I'm definitely looking forward to the continuation!

Oh, good!! I've never heard of anyone who didn't love Gretchen's work. She is immensely talented. Great at character development; highly, HIGHLY skilled at dialogue.
Thanks so much for coming on board here!! xoxo

I would agree. I just started reading her current novel from the beginning, and it is excellent. I'm so glad you've turned me on to her.

Ha! Oh, this is too good, and I am betting it will only get better.
"You'll say, 'AWWWW! Not ALREADYYYYY'"
I laughed obnoxiously at that part...
What a fun and creative idea. I can't wait to see how the story unfolds!

I'm sure you already did this, but reminding people of things they already know is my birthright as a Jewish Mommie: you've "fanned" Gretchen, too, right? so that you don't miss any of the chapters.
We are having the BEST time doing this!! We laugh our heads off every night throwing out ideas to each other on Facebook Messenger! It's too fun. xoxo

What an excellent version of the story, and the picture supporting - where in the world you find such crystal clear images? -Your story is well written and makes me curious about Gretchen's version - looking forward to it.
A very challenging adventure to embark upon with someone you've never met before. Brave young Lady you are -You did however get to enjoy personal contact with the locals, and a buggy ride! Reminds me of long ago stopping over to enjoy a community luncheon with the Amish in Intercourse (PA) on my way to Blue Ball about six miles away - Amazing food. Nicely done Rachelle - 2024 Mercedes!!! Holy C...!

Look under GW Hargis...or, at the top of my post, you'll see the word "Prologue" twice. The first one is her version.
Those are quite the names of towns, aren't they! Yikes.
Thanks for the wonderful review! So very much appreciated. xo
