Wendy, this is a beautiful entry for the Dear God Contest. I love how you wrote a very sincere prayer to the Lord and did it in rhyme. I especially like the lines:
"But you're the One with power, and Your love can fill an ocean
So please set my heart at rest and stop my mind's commotion."

But somehow there are attractions which deceive so many kids,
So true and so disappointing that the tantrums and expectations start so young because the mindless parents do not know how to spend true time with their children unless they put an electronic device in their hands to occupy them. Don't get me started... Thank you for sharing your thoughts and best of luck in the competition.

Yes, there is isn't there. Hmm, an interesting thought but then again I will get all worked up and then have to promote the piece to hear more worked up comments on the subject. There is so much to rant about these days. I read something yesterday that sickened me about grossly bad parenting. And yet, the parents do not think they are doing anything wrong. They are beyond bogans! See, you got me started again...

I understand. I entered a rant about cruelty to animals. You have to write "now I feel better" at the end, but I didn't and you are right. The reviews are upsetting because people give further examples, and it seems so widespread that animals aren't well treated. Even rereading my own piece to check it made me feel upset again.

Ah - my old friend "metre". I rewrote it as "poetic prose" to avoid that issue and as the contest put it it in the prose type section and posted that initially, but then I put it back into "poetry" as I felt that poetic prose was neither one thing nor the other. Lol. Thanks so much for reviewing, and yes, I'll take another look at it.

As a society we have moved so far away from God. I don't understand why. I guess Satan has become more powerful and people are being fooled my him. I know God wants a relationship with us. Thank you Dolly. I think God delights to answer prayers for others and their spiritual well-being. I know he hears, and I know he loves us. For me that is enough; I guess I trust him to do what is right and best. Thank you too for your good wishes.
