This is a well-stated Death 5-7-5 contest entry. The text is a good size. The message is clearly presented and is easy to understand. I feel most of us are ignoring this fact and many fail to prepare on this earthly realm for that outcome.
The photo fits okay. Using a visual with fire implies hell but not heaven. Good luck in the contest.

That's a frightening image! True words and all that...
None of us escape death, nor can we outrun it. When it is our time, we shall go. What comes NEXT after that?
Faith gives me "great expectations!"

Often times these simplest of writing prompts do compress a writers expression down to a certain extent to which the possibility to exist is thwarted in some finite absolute. I tend to hold in my heart, that beyond this world of duality, there exists a non-dual Eternal life. Certainly not yet understood, but something, perhaps someplace that provides indescribable Peace and Comfort.
-
Let us hold on to that heartfelt hope!

You did a great job expressing this here. It reminds me of something Neil Gaiman's Death character said. I don't remember the exact quote, but it was something along the lines of "I don't need to know the future. When the future is over, there's Death." Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Death is inevitable and awaits every creature. This is the only thing about man that is sacrosanct. Well penned with measured flow. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and good luck in the contest.

Indeed, death is undeniable. Everything else is a choice, although i guess death can be a choice also. Nicely written and put.
Thank you for sharing!
Good luck!
Blessings with hugs and kisses!

Writing for the contest, I wish you luck. Writing about death didn't enjoy my night. No one likes to talk about death but we all die. Not really, merely transformed from death to heavenly life. K xx

K, I am in full agreement, my excitement comes with Knowing throughntne mystery of faith, we live abundantly beyond the passage of life In physical form. That is my hope for now.

Look up the 'Silver Cord'; joins us at the navel. We travel the cord in sleep. Only severed when our soul reaches heaven.
-
Amen!

K... I personally believe in a lifelong tether to our ?silver cord? although at birth we can and often do lose the awareness we possess when we come into life. We get all emeshed in mass-mind thinking that does contribute to our dampening our souls. But that silver cord never fails us in the end. Be well!

This is an excellent response to the writing prompt. Syllable count is spot on. Your theme is one we can all relate to and the overall presentation is outstanding.
Good luck in the contest.

Hi
This poem fits to prompt well. It describes the idea that death is the only thing we can be sure of. I like the surrealist artwork you chose to illustrate your words.
Good luck with the prompt.
Keep writing and stay healthy

No we don't know what will happen in the next minute, let alone any other future time. But we are all aware, one-hundred-percent, no one escapes death, we are heading in that direction from the moment we took our first breath. Well done, and good luck in the contest. :))Sandra xx

This is the odd thing about life we have no view of the future, but we know that our life will eventually end. If only we did not know that death came we would have no fear of the future then, if only we could believe that we live forever, your words and chilling and honest, love Dolly x

Dolly, there are no absolutes, only faith that carries us beyond unknowing what follows with certainty. For me, the concept that we each have pass through the same portal into the unknown gives me much hope that our souls continue to evolve into Eternity.
