I loved the section about devouring pain - the ways in which we seek to heal and understand ourselves are varied and brutal at times. The struggle comes across clearly with your effective language.

Yes, and grieving is a part of it, which, if you are describing a current broken relationship, appears to be what you are going through now. But to say, or even know from past experience, that grief is something that one simply MUST go through, admits to, without touching on the pain and frustration you feel ... and the inner knowing that it's a "we" and not a "he" or "she" that must be purged before healing can take place. Thank you very much for reading, and for the words of wisdom, Jay. It was written at an uglier place, when things were over but the person wanted to rehash the ending over and over. I think they meant to fix it, but I was just...done. Things have healed quite a bit now both for each of us and between us, thankfully.
