Excellent entry for the Mother's Day--5-8-2022 writing prompt contest. You followed the rules well. Your poem moves along smoothly and clearly.
I know how you feel, I love my daughters and daughters in-law very much. I'm grateful I have them.
Good luck in the contest.

What a lovely poem about your family (daughters, and daughter-in-law). You have shown them much respect, love, and togetherness as a family. Very sentimental value, also.

This twelve-line poem, Three Precious Mothers, directed at the family daughters and daughter-in-law, acknowledges their commitment to God and their kids. Nice.

Thank you so much Valda. I so appreciate your lovely review, and also the gift of six stars, which I count an honour. Thanks too for the good wishes.

I am sure the attributes of being 'diligent and caring' were passed on by you as a mother to your daughters and witnessed by your daughter-in-law. Your poem shows that it is clearly very satisfying for you to see this dedicated behaviour modelled by them to their children. Mothers are so influential, as is the Bible.

Thank you very much Jenny. Lovely review. Yes they are so influential, I hope and pray mine remember the good - not the time I chased one around the dining table brandishing the wooden spoon!!!

The image of you chasing a child
around the dining table with a wooden spoon made me laugh. I hope it was a big table for the child's sake, to give your anger time to subside. My mum and dad employed the threat of the wooden spoon at the dining table itself if etiquette rules were breached - a rap across the knuckles. It became a game of reflexes - pretending to reach across to grab things then quickly withdrawing as the spoon descended.
-
Lol. Yes it was a big table - and I never got her! This was the most compliant child of the three - I can't remember what she did to upset me so much!
-
Triggered by something forgettable.

Hi Wendy
Very nicely expressed for Mother's Day. It's like dominoes. A good mother makes good mothers who make good mothers.
My favorite verse,
"A blessing for you, three mothers dear
Honoured at this time of year
Mothers of four girls, three boys ...
Bring so much love and daily joys"
This should be a contender in the contest. Good Luck!
Hugs,
Kimbob
& Happy Mother's Day!

I wish I had a 6! This is an exceptionally lovely, expressive poem. It's obvious that these three young ladies are worthy of your praise! Your primary wish is movingly conveyed--that they lead their children in a way that guides them to the Lord.

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt entry with us. I do understand this poem even though I only had boys. I am truly blessed with three amazing daughter-in-laws who are exactly what each of my son's needed. My oldest son's wife, Nicole, needed to be an extremely strong lady, who was capable of keeping my opinionated son in his place. He is capable of standing up for herself. LOL My next son's wife, Crystal, needed to gentle and nurturing to keep her husband calm. He's extremely ADHD. Next comes Katie. She needed to be extremely intelligent, yet have a silly side, to meet my son's intelligence, yet help him to loosen up and not be serious all the time. All of them are Godly women and parents. I enjoyed reading.
