It is really needed and helps to calm our nerves at during some stressed up moments. A warm hug does a lot for a broken heart.

This new era we are in keeps us futher apart. We are lacking that human interaction that many of us grew up with. This piece says to me that we need to find a way back to being a little bit more connected.

This is a very relevant poem for the times! I like your overall presentation and your words ring true to how so many of us are feeling about the lack of human touch right now. Best to you in the contest.

This is a strong poem with an interesting coherent storyline. It has a competent varied rhyming scheme. The only technical weakness is
withheld
withholding
that follow each other.

This four-line poem, Hugs and Kisses, has the proper formatting and reminds the readers of th3 closeness we have forfeited in order to fight the virus.

The need for physical touch is so very important, enriching all our relationships and making life pleasurable and good. But ... now we must show our care by not hugging .... just in case. Cruel irony. Well written!

Hi JLR,
This is a good entry for the 4-line rhyming contest. Good Luck in the voting booths!
The thing I've missed the most during this pandemic is playing guitar in the worship team at church. It's been 10 months now since the last Sunday I was with with this group. We always practiced every Wednesday as well. No let up. The virus is still surging. Hospitals overwhelmed.
But what about those seniors who are stuck in a room in some nursing home? They wear a mask all day, and no visitors. I can, at least, get in my car and drive to the grocery store, breakfast occasionally with my wife at a safe restaurant, or take a walk or hike in the woods.
Good rhymes for the poem... "withheld/ rebelled/ impelled", and the near rhyme of "shelved". Also one inner rhyme included, "welled".
I sense the frustration and sadness in your poem. Most people need that human touch. We are social species after all.
Cheers,
Kimbob

Kimbob, Right in lock-step with you on the total shut down and the way it has curtailed so much, I was a very active hospice volunteer now on the shelf.

This rhyming poem carries with it a profound thought about how in this time so many are missing the human touch that makes for us a healthy life. I feel terrible for those aged people who live alone and do not have the touches each day that are needed.
