I loved these lines-
burgeoning between my toes, sprouting
sun on my laughing nose,
What a fun poem! I don't think I've ever read a poem that frolicked until I read this one. Love, love, love it.

I love your ode to yourself. You are free and make the reader feel free with you as you enjoy life and everything in God's world. Glad to see you added the "or Her." A completely enjoyable read with a lovely presentation of colors and picture.

Everyday is one of those days for me:-) I guess anything is possible and we should live everyday like we are living our dream:-) I found that this was uplifting and quite... How do you say? Positive?

This poem made me think of my college roommate, senior year in the Sigma Nu House, who explained to me that he and I were "good," meaning "smart, handsome and clever," and that we had every right to feel good about ourselves. He WAS good, and went on to have a successful career as a Methodist minister. I loved that most of your poem was a single sentence, just rambling on. I'm not sure I've ever had as good a day as you were having when you wrote this, but I like it that you're celebrating YOU.

Well ... "odes" can be so damned BORING, Dave, right? The alternative was "ode to a toad" - and who'd want to do that? But yes, I had some "alone" quiet time yesterday ... always a good thing! :))))

Oh yes, for sure this one deserves a 6! I celebrate with you and i thank you or this shot of adrenaline in my veins. Even my taste buds are happy thinking of a great cup of tea and a slice of banana bread. My favorite food: bread, any kind, any flavor, any shape. Celebrate.

Well Whitman did it, you did it and now the world must do it. Very interesting you and I enjoyed the running through the grass barefoot. Isn't it just amazing when you discover yourself?

It's just a matter of taking the time, Gungalo - too much time spent on unimportant things sometimes! :)S

Well you are a treasure :) This is a humorous ode and I congratulate you for thinking of it! It is very much your style and readers will love it a lot. I am stuck with my ode and not sure if I'll be able to gitter done...

thank you so much, Joy ... yes, I saw I'd put in to do an "ode" and was just thinking how boring they were as a form - to be "exalted", hmm? I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with! :)))))Sharyn

From the start to the end a great romp.
There's lots to enjoy here but the following showed a deep sense of having being there before and created a great mood
"seeking God in everything
and cheekily, I might add,
finding Him, or Her, hidden"
Enjoyed the humour and I think ,in writing this, you did too.
I had the feeling you wanted us all to share your joY.

Thanks so much, Paul! You started it, you know. I read my first Billy Collins yesterday and loved his conversational style laced with such unique imagery. Bless you for your lovely gifts! :)Sharyn

I knew he would influence you -- I wonder if those used to the traditional way will be able to make the jump--you did that so well people would love it regardless of Mr Collins __ maybe we don't tell them.

If for one fleeting one-off moment we felt the elation of happiness touching our soul out of nothingness or simply just a peaceful time.
In those moments of fleeting peace and tranquility, we will write a poem like this.
To serenade what we have or are given.
No one or things upset us today or the sense of belonging as one with the outside world, treading on the green grass, shouting for no reason at the wind or just feel so much contentment on our hearts.
So we celebrate our being here for that moment in time - to be carefree, no stress and just a serene relaxation after finding out we did not gain that much weight in spite of yesterday's gourmet of fine wine, food and ice-cream. Yummy-yummy!
Cheers, Ritchiesszzky.

Yes, sometimes life is so yummy like having a romantic interlude with fine wine and music. We will get lost and start to become like silly adult children with dreamy and half-close eyes of nigh (not high, LOL). In the morning after, still dizzy, the peace, quiet and sunshine outside confirmed that last night was indeed not a dream, LOL. Blessing, Ritchie ;)))).
