Hi there;
Thank you for sharing this lovely sonnet to start the year. I felt the meter within the lines and I felt the raw emotion of missing someone.
Well done,
~patty~

Such a sad sonnet so I am glad it is not autobiographical.
Nicely written Janet. Good imagery and good rhyme.
I wish you well in the contest.

This is a wonderful sonnet and apt for the contest.
You made me remember some of my own lonly evenings
when my husband in away on his many politics-related trips
and I sit alone by the fireplace on pillows, sipping my full-bodied
red all by myself.
Thanks for sharing this, and all the best with the contest.

Beautiful and I felt the loss and the love. It is hard to lose someone so close, like a spouse. I work as a Hospice Nurse and see how hard it is to lose someone like a spouse, especially when you are married many years. The poem does portray how that loss feels. Very well done.

This is sad and meloncholy but has a positive vibration when you return to your dreams and are then soothed by them, we learn to live without our loved ones, but we never forget their memory do we, love Dolly x
