I enjoyed your iambic pentameter and rhymes. My favorite lines were those that so clearly described our planet's position in the universe with poetic phrasing: "A microcosm of this larger plan" and "our globe is angled off its plane". You just can't wait for spring to arrive.

Yeah, it gets pretty bad when you desperately write about the tilt of the earth, looking forward to spring! LMAO!!! I do love pondering the universe. Can't get enough of documentaries on it all. Isn't it great that there is something way beyond our comprehension? To be in awe like that? Thanks so much for highlighting those lines you liked. Always a bonus for me. And for your great review. My warmest regards, Sue :-)

Yes, to be in awe--I think it's the same reason I enjoy planetariums.

60's kid, another entertaining and well written piece. Of course here in Sothern California, we are in the land of the "endless summer," and love it!

Oh, you just KNOW how to push that button, don't you! Shame on you! One more stunt like this and I'm going to block you! LOL!!!! You drive me crazy every time you bring it up! My medium term plan? I'm going back to Arizona!! Can't live like this. Thanks for your sarcastic review and lovely 5 stars! Sue :-))

Now we're bringing some science into our philosophizing - you're just a regular smarty pants! :-D
The first two times I did not read towards as to wards - once I did, the iambic pentameter flows beautifully throughout this well-structured sonnet. I'm jumping for joy at the vernal equinox! :-) Fun couplet, good poem. Brooke

Thank you for this poem. At last someone who doesn't believe in the big bang. We can all enjoy what you describe in your poem. It's ours to enjoy. Thank God for the tilt. You describe it so simply. Great job.

The Big Bank theory is HOGWASH!! WHAT? Scientists expect me to believe there was a miniscule "singularity"?? Religion or not...creationism vs. whatever - don't matter. There was no big bloody bang! LOL!!! Thanks for your great review! 3 cheers for the "tilt"! Sue :-))

I liked the last line the best in this poem. I am so ready for spring myself. We had our first nice day here all year earlier this week. But i digress.. this poem was well written and flowed well. Good job- Sam

Good stuff! A fun poem with good use of iambic pentameter and alternating rhyme scheme. With science to boot! (It's funny...I was just explaining, er, TRYING to explain...to my 5-year-old son how the earth is tilted off its axis, thus causing the change in seasons.)
Anyways, keep writing!

You've got a great piece, here. You are enjoying yourself in the poetic flow, and that's evident. While I'm not usually hot on rhymes, you do well here. Construction-wise, this is great. While I may not agree with certain aspects of your poem from a certain point of view, those are your views, and they are properly expressed in this piece. Great stuff, I guess I'm aiming to say.

enjoi, forget about not being "hot" on rhymes. Just view it as another type of writing. I LOVE every form of poetry, just as I enjoy paintings in expressionism, impressionism, the old masters, etc. and I LOVE classical music and rock on to Led Zeppelin! HA! Okay, you MUST tell me what point of view you don't share with me. Or, I won't sleep tonight. Loving science, I need to know!! Thanks for your great review. Sue :-)) (seriously, I won't sleep)
