I am 79 years old and my daughter is urging me to put into writing what I want to leave to which children and grandchildren immediately. I want to do it, but I find it difficult to do and I don't know why. Of course she is right. I must make the time to do it and it must be sooner than later, before it is too late.

This is a fine story about what can happen at the end of life with a lonely isolated person. I enjoyed the three different POVs showing the impersonal response to this man's passing: the police, the medical examiner, and the inheritors of his estate.
An important social commentary here and many thanks for sharing.

Interesting. I guess in the end we all die alone when you really think about.
This is well written. There are a lot of names floating around, I noticed at first, but then I realized that everyone is speaking to someone else. You were emphasizing that they were not alone, only Bowman.

I'm a bit confused. The first section had Dennis and Fanny. Then it changed to different officer and the medical examiner.
Were the two contact names found, a set up god the last two pieces of dialogue?

Well, besides entertaining me this Christmas night, as I sit alone in my home, doing my reviewing stint that gives me the right to promote my own stuff (no day off for the Fanstorian) ... I received a bonus with your recommendation for Snugsafe. Thank you. I do worry about the whole array of things that can happen to an 83-year-old whose kids do check on him every couple of days, but would get the ol' stink-eye if they interrupted my work more often than that. A lot of decomposition can happen in three or so days, especially in Bakersfield's hot summers.
Anyway, Terry, I'm off to check on that app right away. Thanks for sharing.
