This poem is unfortunately very true and it resonates with me, we are experiencing shortages all over the world because of people's panic buying and hoarding, I tried to buy supplies and found the shelves empty, a poignant and well written poem, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Hello, Dolly!
Where we live, the shelves are not bare. And people have truly been kind and considerate. I even had an elderly gentleman ask me if I needed his assistance at the gasoline station. I didn't, but we had a lovely conversation...
Stay safe!
And take care of yourself!

This is a great entry for the Hope Poem contest. It tells a story but makes a point about how important even small gestures are in times like these. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

That would be an amazing gesture for someone to make. Things are going to get worse before they get better. So kind gestures is the way to go. Thanks for sharing.

It's amazing how much a little thing like that can help. I refuse to live in fear, and I hope I've convinced at least a few not to. I survived whooping cough in 1970, and I'll survive this too, should I catch it. I do have a couple of weeks supply of food and cat food, tho. Good luck in the contest.

Amid any trial or turmoil, there is always hope, waiting to be found and shared. Your poem reminds us of that simple truth. This poem is well written and I believe it will do well in this entry. God bless you and keep spreading hope.

What a very lovely poem about hope. It really resonated with me because whenever I am feeling down, or life is a bit too tough, I buy tulips. I love the point of this poem, everyone can pass on hope to each other instead of being terrified of passing the virus. It truly works. Your image is also beautiful and really enhances your poem. I think tomorrow I'll go buy some of my favorites, the red ones with the yellow tips. Thank you for this Poem and good luck in the contest.

Hello Therese!
I loved reading your review!
It's a rare shopping trip that doesn't find me bringing home flowers or plants. I love tulips - especially the pink ones. And I cannot pass daffodils without bringing at least two bundles home!
So very pleased my words resonated with you!
Take Care of Yourself!
And Thank you!

I also can?t pass by those daffodils!

Your lovely, well-written poem conveys a wonderful message about the power of hope, the strength of a sweet, sharing spirit, and how small a gesture it takes to bring a smile.

What an uplifting contest entry, Mystery Author. I enjoyed reading it. Your lines flow smoothly, the rhymes are great, and the message is heartfelt. We had a flower shop that made arrangements for all the residents at a nursing home for their rooms 60+ and for 20 tables in the dining hall. They delivered them unannounced. They were beautiful and the residents were so appreciative. Some of them never have visitors. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully, Jan

Hello Jan!
What a wonderful gift. My mother was in a nursing home for far too many years. I know she so appreciated any floral arrangements that were shared with residents. What a lovely gesture- especially now when most nursing homes are closed to visitors...
Thank you for your excellent and thoughtful review!

It is closed now and I haven't seen my friends in over 4 days and don't know when I will.

These are truly challenging times...

I enjoyed your poem and the positive message it conveys. An act of such kindness would give anyone a lift. Hopefully there are many who would do this or something similar.
My daughter was waiting in a line for Trader Joe's and saw an elderly gentleman fall. She was the only one to leave the line and help him.
I guess the others were afraid to lose their place in line. Unbelievable!
Thanks for sharing the beautiful message of your poem.

Oh my goodness, Nancy!
That is terrible.
Everyone I have met as I have shopped since the coronavirus has made its presence known has been more than helpful and friendly.
And yes, there has been sharing of tulips and laughter...
Take Care of yourself.
And thank you!
