JMF: great sonnet. It's amazing how our fingers can
change the flow of our thoughts. Sometimes, my characters
become alive and I meet them. I like your rhymes and shocker
ending. Happy New Year. flylikeaneagle

The tones of purples and blue, the true colour of love, are amazing in your presentation, Janet. It's amazing how the sound of someone just moving or living makes such an imprint on our memory of them. You've capture that essence beautifully.
It's amazing how sonnets sometimes take a different direction that we had originally planned.
This is a terrific sonnet and I wish you the best in the contest.

There is sadness in your words and a feeling of love that does not happen. Excellent sonnet form with a smooth flow of words. "But as the snowflakes fall and fill the air" is a great line that adds to the feeling of the poem. I wish you well for the contest.

Hello Jmf4119, A heartfelt poem of memories. Of special note:
The starry skies fade slowly with the dawn
revealing beauty of a brand-new day.
I turn to see that, from my bed, you've gone
as my blue heavens change to dismal grey.
(A verse that many can/will relate to. In the beauty of the night, magic casts it spell.)
I also liked:
So, quietly, I go back to our bed
and dream again of days when we were wed.
(Soulful)
Lovely artwork choice. A pleasure to read. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. LateBloomer

Anyone who has lost in love can relate to this feeling and this writer conveyed that feeling perfectly. This was written well, the photo is a great match. She has either experienced this pain or knows someone who has been through it - that she supported as she writes of the emotion so profoundly. Very well done.

It's an effective nostalgic reflection on the profound feelings of loss and the emotional longing following a relationship breakup and pain that inevitably ensues

Wow, Janet.
You sure do know how to tug at those ole heartstrings, yes?
As evidenced by my rating, I felt this was an exceptionally melancholy yet simultaneously beautifully well written sonnet.
Impeccable rhyme, meter and flow--a trifecta of perfection.
Bravo...
