I enjoyed this poem which has strong feelings about drugs and the life of people who consume drugs. The ill-effects are disastrous and you have shown that clearly in your poem. Very informative and appreciative.

A very dark storytelling of the affliction of addiction. You have told it well, delivering the pain and sorrow and internal hatred the abuser has for himself and his life. Ray aka R. K. Alan

Hello Dk, yeah no doubt you write about some sorid places to live within. My best friend in life took me to a place where they were smoking crack. I didn't cause I'm kinda square but the people around me were instantly skeptical and afraid of me because I wouldn't...this reminded me of that day...not bad as far as the writing goes but, oh Lord the place you want to take your readers....xoxo Kiwi

Hi Dklrdmcches
A powerful statement I think of the despair of addiction and the waste of a persons life as it slowly destroys them from within. Very well written, though I'd suggest using a different colour for the text - it may just be my eyes or my screen, but dark red on black is difficult to read!

A trip to the 'dark side', very well written, I like this line:
'shaking from the down that is upon me, I scour the couch for my next high.'
I would think that would be a very apt description.

This nearly killed my oldest son, I hate to read this each time and then I pray like in the poem,God save him from this despair that swallows his very soul, once again. I am glad I stopped to read and pray.

You certainly live upto your image of haunt, frieght; you painted a vivid picture of a disease that so many youths are addicted to, great use of vocabulary making it a horrific read, glad it's not real. Powerful write, thanks for sharing.

I think its 'serum' not 'syrum'. I like 'Shaking from the down that is upon me' This is quite a disturbibg and dark poem, but what else could it be? I thought you wrote it very well. Thanks for sharing. Lise

This piece was very deep indeed. It is never easy to cease the cravings for such a substance. Reading this, I know it must be hard for you, but believe that everything happens for a reason, and believe in recovery.
