Sue, nice job on this lovely haiku. With such tight rules, you certainly know how to pull off a great poem. The photo is perfect for this work. Nice job as always.

Ahhhh! Lovely autumn haiku and beautifully illustrated, giving the impression of a carefully stitched quilt. Great entry. Good luck.

A patchwork covering offered
by Mother Nature every Autumn
with the myriad of colors dazzling
in the variations and fragrances
that are there for the mere mortals
who walk amongst all this beauty.
Your words so beautifully paint this
picture of an Autumn day when the summer
blush of the flowers is changed and Nature
puts on another warmer coat.
Well done and good luck

This is a very good haiku! Well thought out and conveyed. You have done all the correct counts with the syllable allowances and the context is nice. Thanks for sharing. Sharon

Beautiful haiku! I usually like the poem itself to paint a picture in my mind (your poem does this very well by the way) but I think the picture you have chosen goes great with this.

Gosh, we haven't even gotten into summer this year yet! LOL
I do love autumn colors though. We have an oak tree just around the bend here that turns bright gold every year. It's so pretty!
Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem with us!

This is a wonderful haiku, my friend. It creates a very vivid image in the readers mind. The art work you chose for this haiku compliments your writing very well. Great job! - Sam

Sam, thanks so much for your great compliments. I haven't written a haiku for a while. Good to get back in the groove of it. And thanks for your very kind review. Sue :-))

What a wonderful way to describe autumn...a patchwork quilt. The artwork matches perfectly. (You remembered that it's autumn here in Oz!) The poem has a nice rhythm, and a symmetry to it, with the final line summing up. Good luck with the contest. :)

Hi Jazh! Thanks so much for your great review! Yes, it's autumn there and I've been a bit "homesick". Starting to make my plans for October to get down there. So glad you liked this one. Sue :-))
