I'm sorry for your lost, dear friend. I hope cleaning and sprucing up his tomb will brings flowers into your heart. Lovely and heart-felt poem.

    amada, yes...I didn't realize how good it would feel to keep the gravesite well-kept. Like me always telling him I love and respect him. Not a sophisticated poem, but just a simple one at how I felt today. Thanks for your very kind words. Sue

What a lovely poem and tribute to your father, Sue. I really liked it. It flows well, and the rhymes are good. I particularly like the love and missing what you had with him - I can relate, having lost my Nana last month. Great artwork too. :)

This is a beautiful and heartfelt tribute to your fathers memory. I think it is natural to mark the day. I have done that with some of my relatives. I hope you are doing well in your day of rememberance. This was well written as usual. - Sam

    Sam, it does feel better when I do go visit his gravesite. I do tell him I love him and I do like to keep his site tidy. Makes me feel better all around. Thank you for your very kind words. Sue

Oh, Sue, that's one day I dread. :( So sorry about your loss. Your poem is beautiful, passionate and melancholy. (Please consider changing "and missing" to "still missing"...I think your way is technically incorrect.)

This is real nice. I like how you got it set up. Telling how much you love and miss him. And showing by picking weeds and keeping his grave site clean. Even though it's been a year ago, it seem like yesterday. The roses set it off. I lost my mother so I can relate to what you're saying. I saw no errors.

Keep doing it. Remember him after everyone else has forgotten. Very touching story. I still miss my father very much, and he has been gone nearly thirty years. Best wishes. Ray.

In 2009 I will observe the 50th anniversary of my mother's death - visiting the cemetery is always an important part of that - your words are simple but heartfelt - this is a poem that resonates with me. Brooke
