"Music" is perfectly told and so true. Life without music is indeed unthinkable. It crosses generations and borders, improves moods and stimulates brain cells. Well done.

NightWriter, music is so important to me, that it does dawn on me at times what in the world would we do without it?!! From rock to classical to jazz to R&B and the list goes on to international folk, etc. Thank you so much for your review. Sue

Well done! You have maintained the required syllable count in all lines except line 2 - here there are 5 syllables instead of 4. The thoughts expressed are very true - that music can bridge the gap between languages and culture, whether this be by instrument or song. Everyone can feel the beat and enjoy music without actually understanding the words that are sung. The flow at the start and end of the poem is well done - running from Music and ending with Music - very meaningful words.

Music is the nectar of life. Without it there is nothing. I can't even imagine such a thing.

Very well done. I sincerely enjoyed your expression, creativity, and ability to form images with your chosen words.

Oh, this is a great entry! Great subject and so true. I think of all the songs I enjoy, even though I don't 'understand' the words. Music is a bridge. Wonderful poem. Good luck and thanks for sponsoring the contest. Now I need to come up with some inspiration.

This is a lovely poem, Sue....a subject dear to my heart, as a musician! Nice flow to it, and some great alliteration. A good example for the contest! Good luck with it. :)

Yes, I love your cello photo! I adore Bach's Cello suite #1!! But then, who doesn't??? Are you an accomplished player? Thanks so much for your review! Sue

I am somewhat 'accomplished' on violin...that was my professional instrument. I play cello, piano, guitar, flute and recorder to varying degrees of profiency! Pretty rusty now...I just muck around with the electric instruments.

The review was my pleasure. :)

Oh, my gosh!! I would LOVE to play an instrument! I think I would have been a decent piano player had I had lessons. It just "feels right". I can pick our chords easy. I have a good ear for music. But, I never did it. Never too late for anything, though!

So cool you can play ALL those instruments. What a beautiful thing to do; be able to pick one up and just make your own music. DON'T GET RUSTY!!! Play!!!

It's never too late to pick up an instrument....I didn't start cello until a couple of years ago. Do it or you'll regret it. :) My best students have been "mature". Cheers. :)
