A beautiful poem indeed. It captures the mood of the moment just before the start of a work of art. I like the simplicity of the poem as well as its brevity and simple diction. cheers

An excellent way of describing what we all fear Writer's Block or in this case Painter's block. Excellent language choices greated a great image. Great read. joan marie

Empty canvas stares
Blankly back at artist
Wanting to be brushed
By strokes of genius

Much like the empty page stares back at the writer, waiting to be brought to life with rich characters and well chosen words. Well done, I enjoyed this one very much. Good luck in the contest.
Take care,
Nita

Ordinarily I wouldn't go for puns in poetry, but this one works. It also evokes, for a writer, that blank sheet of paper, or more modernly, blank screen.

In just 21 syllables I get the impression of an artist standing in front of a blank canvas contemplating what should be painted next.

Sorry, Sue. I was just being cheeky. Sometimes I forget to respond to them all too. :)

This was a wonderful, yet simple four line poem. The artwork is perfect because it is so blank and staring back at you. It is kind of like a blank screen on my computer when I am trying to write something good but am experiencing writers block. LOL

This work has reached the exceptional level

In all its simplicity, this poem is brilliant, sixteezkid. It is so unique to look at a potential work of art from the point of view of the canvas. I commend you for showing a timeless story from a new perspective.

GREAT JOB!
