Hi Roy Well written iambic tetrameter and great rhyme with a good question to ask
It seems the truth today is what ever the flavour of the month is
So much manipulation of our 'history' good or bad it will be changed to suit to PC or woke brigade
Our Grandies will probably never read the true history etc
Don't start me on the pollies or heath dept's rhetoric it changes hourly

Of course we are all at danger from skillful unscrupulous writers, just like we are at danger from skillful unscrupulous politicians. I think these people should have to pass an ultimate honesty test required for employability.

I have found that truth is ever evasive. Doesn't matter if a preacher, politico, teacher or even a parent (like Santa and the Easer bunny) and often times is better left uninvestigated.

There aren't many earthly sources that we can say with certainty are completely true. Truth can be manipulated in such a way that it isn't exactly a lie, but it gives a false impression. Even truth from the Bible can be misinterpreted. Two people who believe opposite of each other are apt to quote the same texts to support their way of thinking.

I remember the days of Walter Cronkite when we all believed him because he didn't slant the news. Oh, for another like him.
