There's a surreal quality to the images in this free verse poem, an abstraction that illustrates this theme of open horizons. We see a life or a convention of life, smeared on a microscopic plate, being scrutinized, and the one being scrutinized trying to life off that plate, into an open ended consciousness. Then we get into that plane, we see colors but not shapes, voices but not words, feelings without figures. I think the image were cleverly chosen to illustrate your theme and it works. estory

Wow. I love your thorough analysis of the theme of this piece. No one else has gotten it so clearly. Thank you so much for seeing with a deep and open mind. Your descriptions show the artistry of your writing. I am honored to receive this marvelous review, and an exceptional rating, as well.

Hi Jesse, Happenstance Confusion? I'm already a fully paid up member of the club! Lol. However, this condition, does have some blessings - often concealed - which allow me to enjoy life and laugh at the expense of those who cannot, or do not want to understand my diabolically occluded thoughts when I deliver same! When young, my dear mother would tell me to stop talking "double Dutch"! Why Dutch I'll never understand? Suffice it to say, I love putting words together that on the reader's first impression, don't appear to make sense, or have any truth within, only for them to see a meaning therein, until it's pointed out to them! I get great enjoyment from writing verse in this manner as well. The Double Entendre is always a prime example of this "art". Benny Hill (British comedian) was brilliant at such word play. We possess all his DVD's and get the greatest enjoyment from watching same. We never tire of his offerings, and find more and more 'confusion; within same, every time we watch them, which allows us to see even more than most others watching! I like to compose 'happenstance conflusions' such as you describe, which I find quite rational! Fondest regards - hope all is well with you? - Denis. Waiting - with some apprehension - for the next snowfall - or whatever - tonight!

Thank you, Denis, for your interesting perspective of what I intended to say. I'm sorry. I wasn't joking like Benny Hill. Thank you for your communications, and for the review and excellent rating.

I enjoyed reading your poem and praise your marvelous use of poetic language. "Semiconscious sphere" and "happenstance illusion" are two of my favorite phrases. Thank you for sharing this poem and the artwork is perfect! (Sorry I don't have six stars available right now or I would have given them.)

Thank you for this uniquely positive review. I am very happy with your kind comments, along with your choice of favorite phrases. I am glad you enjoyed both the artwork and the poem. I appreciate your wish to give me a six star rating. That 'virtual' sixer, means as much to me as the real deal. Thank you for your kind review and excellent rating.

Hello Jesse James Doty
Ah, I like how you said in your authors note which relate to the title of your excellent poem... with you saying---
that you mind is open to exploring many possibilities.
I like the possibility your mind explored. where every color's fusion becomes yellow, blue, or green.
Are you missing the fusion of the hue red?
Gert

I love the end of this the most.
That in this dream-type state, the sound
of children playing/singing breaks
through, confirming love.
Which is always there if we look
for it.
Very deep and thought-provoking,
lovely picture,
blessings...

Your poem makes me think of all the wanderings of my own mind wondering if in higher or horizontal dimension that is warped in such a way that pi might work out to a perfect 3 or there may exists colors we can't even conceive of. Well, enough of my rambling, but a rating expanded six for allowing me express my convoluted confession. ; )

Hello Jesse!
Three times this evening I began your well-crafted free verse offering, and three times I was called away!
I'm back, and your verse has my full attention.
First of all, I must share that when I was a little girl, I would often close my eyes to see stars/galaxies in my mind's eye: twirling, spinning, dipping and diving... much like your chosen artwork:
of a place I've never seen
where every color's fusion
becomes yellow, blue, or green. (But there was also a lot of red, too!)

Aside from the above seemingly catwalk, I appreciate the nuances of your poem and the visual and emotive images you share with the reader!

Kudos!
diane

Hello Diane! Wow! You really captured what I was going for with this. Thank you for choosing the part that spoke to you the most. Imagination is a fun, inspiring experience, isn't it? In your mind's eye you can see things others can't even fathom. That's the beauty of it. I appreciate all your kind comments, and shared memories. Thank you so much for this invitation to your perspective which is as unique as anything I've written. Your wonderful review and exceptional rating are very appreciated.

Well Jesse, you have taken my mind on a wonderful journey, " where every colors fusion" there are many possibilities as our mind keeps telling us, I very much like the way you combined your words to produce an even bigger image than your chosen artwork, very well written and presented****kahpot

I like the rhyme scheme of this poem. It helps to create the feeling that the mind is forever changing thought patterns in a kaleidoscopic way. The poem also suggests that the mind is working in an expansive way like the universe. Great poem.
