Exactially. I love the way you describe things. It is so complete and the descriptions take me into the piece. Froim birth to death,...and simply turns the page. Great piece

Visionary, this is very well written, well worth the recognition received so far. Aw, so true about the passing of time, and I loved your last line of she laughs and turns the page. So true, especially as I see the elderly around me facing their golden years, some in not such a good way. Thanks for sharing these thought provoking words with us.

Beautiful Sonnet - well constructed
with perfect meter and rhyme. A nice
turn in third stanza and a sad but
strong closing couplet.
Nice use of alliteration throughout.

Wow! This is elegant and philosophical, and beautiful and profound and just a wonderful sonnet. I loved everything about it, including the picture and red presentation. I don't think it has anything wrong so why not give it the six it deserves? Okay. Gladly! Loved it! MM

You hit the nail on the head with this. It is a beautiful poem, that made me sit and think. You expressed something that hits all of us. The realization that life isn't forever. Nicely done.

nasty, isn't it GW? Thank you SOOOOO much for your lovely six on this one. Sonnets are very difficult (for me, anyway) to construct, so I'm so glad it ended up working!
Bless you for all your encouragement!

Beautiful sonnet, Sharyn of life and death. How true of watching our parents becoming frail and dying when they were always our foundations. Love how nicely you have presented this. Very pretty (I'm partial to red-:) ) Best of luck in the contest! Betty

I'm partial to red, too, Betty - glad to find a fellow red-fiend and so glad you enjoyed this piece, which was a challenging one to write for me.

C'est la vie indeed . Precious poem ,totally realistic, a great sonnet.
True to form, good rhyme and imagery. " this once immortal gods
appear so frail. Their grasp on life and love they cannot hold "

Time waits for no one. It it the folly of our lives that we always think we can control with our schedules and our planning. But time prevails and does not let anything stand in her way. There are no untimely deaths, just time doing it's dirty deed. Your poem has inspired this rant. I enjoyed it!

This is a lovely well written sonnet and a terrific entry for this contest. I like the unique subject of how we view time as we grow older. The last verse is superb:
From birth to death, it seems but naught an age
As Time - she laughs, and simply turns the page.
I wish you all the best.
