Oh, I so hope they catch Peggy in leaking info about the fake safe house - you know how I hate that conniving bitch! LOL
I had not thought enough about the career implications in this marriage if Steven does not have it annulled - that would be one major sacrifice to make for love. I really didn't even notice this installment was longer than usual, Barbara :-) Brooke

Thank you for your kind review. This post was about 600 words longer than I usually post. Thank you for being kind and not noticing.

This is another well-written chapter, as usual. It was interesting from beginning to end. The sexual tension makes it interesting.

Barbara,

This post may be a bit long, but you were right not to break it up. It looks like Matt has finally wised up about Peggy. Somehow, I think Steven's going to end up off the task force, but still with an excellent job.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read and have several comments:

"As I watched her lay [lie] comatose in bed, I realized..."

"Imagine how much fun congress [Congress] could have with that,..."

"...and I'll take care of congress [Congress]." Sounds like Steven is about to retire...

"I've told you that I've never met anyone with green eyes before, haven't I?" No nits, just a thought. I doubt if anyone in Colombia has green eyes, but Leya did graduate from Yale.

"What about that bother's [bothers] you?"

Dave

I was kind of wondering if Peggy might be the one behind the attack, though I hope she isn't. Jealousy can make people do very strange and dangerous things sometimes though. Just one nit:

hundreds of warning[s] daily

I like this chapter- Leya's speedy recovery, the growing love between the false husband and wife, and the other parties who are getting increasingly interested in Leya. Well done.

This is the first time i have read your novellete and i have already been carried away with the flow of the story. I think you should continue with your simple writing style; it is captivating.

If you are carried away with the flow of the story and think my style of writing is captivating why did I get 4 stars? I am confused. Please let me know what I did wrong.

Hi Barbara, this was a nice and enjoyable chapter. I liked Matt's internal thoughts. One can still feel his authority shining through.
A few gremlins:-

He swallowed and ran his hand thro(w)[ugh] his hair

I'll see (that) my work is finished[before] I go home tonight."

Peggy smiled at Steven, as he walked up to Matt asked, "Is the doctor with Leya?"
(I don't quite get this sentence)Perhaps - Peggy smiled at Steven as he walked up to Matt and asked??

Luv jada

Barbara,
Another excellent and enjoyable chapter. Steven and Matt discuss the special ladies in their lives. Steven admits how much he loves Leya. Peggy, the bitch is back, and as I suspected she's up to something. Matt figures out Peggy may have been the reason the safe house was attacked. He decides to set a trap for Peggy. I hope the jealous and traitorous witch is going down. Peggy deserves what's coming to her. Another wonderful chapter of "Tantalizing Eyes." By the way, your chapter wasn't too long for me.
Melissa.

I really enjoyed reading this chapter. Seems Steven has found a lot of reasons why he and Leya cannot be together, but he forgetting the most power reason why they should--love. I don't like Peggy and I'm glad that Matt is astute enough to see through her insincerity. It's majorly obvious that's she's very jealous of Leya.
