This was indeed a wonderful tribute to your late father. I am sure that the sound of his banjo will remain in your memory always to let you know that he is playing it in Heaven.

Nice poem of rememberance. I always hope my children will remember all of the music I played for them on my guitar. I believe it does leave something special. Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely tribute. I could hear the music and I sensed the love as well. Let's hope Daddy gets wind of this wonderful poem and puts it to music... Adam

This is what one can look around with pride and call a good poem with a smile. The rhyme scheme is intelligently plotted. The syllables I guess are measured because the lines read like a song. The diction enhanced the picture of the story. I can go on and on... it is a great poem. The last line nearly marred the art, but I can understand the sentiment.

Hi Chidozie, thank you for your very generous review! And your very specific comments. I am very glad you liked this piece. The sentimental last line is there because it is in a contest "In Honor of a Loved One". So, it's a tribute type contest to a loved one gone. Your input has been so much appreciated. With regards, Sue

What a nice remembrance and touching tribute to your dear one. I definitely like the quatrain format and the rhyming scheme. Nowhere to fault it.

what a wonderful well emotional family poem, and the picture is awesome, I enjoyed it as it was structured smoothly and was easy for me to read and no stop until the end. During holidays is when we miss the ones dear to us and have gone to stay with God. thank you for sharing.

Yes, it is during the Holidays, isn't it? Dad just passed away in March and I found myself getting to miss him real bad. I didn't even think of the Holiday factor until yesterday. Thank you so much for your very generous review and most kind thoughts and comments. Warmest regards, Sue

Hello Sixteezkid.
Wow! A Gibson! They're good. Yep they're having a party in heaven. My dad will be singing along. Great poem. Best to you with the entry. I think, IMHO, you could have a winner.

Rebecca, you know about a Gibson! Yay!!! I remember my Dad used to be asked once in awhile to play on a Sunday night at church (along with a piano, fiddle, mandolin, etc.) and play Bluegrass Gospel music. He loved to sing, also. Thank you SO much for your very generous review and uplifting comments. Who are the judges??? Heck, I'm so new here, I don't know where I'm at. LOL! Warmest regards, Sue

Sometimes it goes by vote in the voting booth. Otherwise I've no idea who the judges are. I know for myself I get the excellent reviews but never yet won. lol.

This is so so sweet. Music has a way of bridging gaps of understanding and bringing people, and families together. A lovely expression. Bravo Bravo

This is a very nice tribute to your father. It paints a picture of happy memories you have of him, and indicates the impact his music has had throughout your life. Nice work!
