Thanks for ranting, Wendy. I see similar situations and want to weep for the poor animals. What would possess a human to get a pet and then treat it so inhumanely? I see dogs left in insufferably hot cars in the summer, dogs left outside in a "pen" with no shelter in snowstorms, last summer, as I took my daily walk around the neighborhood there was one owner I never laid eyes on--who would scream from his air- conditioned home-- the loudest and most vile words at his dog, who was merely barking to say "hello" to me as I passed by his pitiful strip of a yard, as he panted heavily in the heat and had only a fifteen-foot "lead" on a dog "run" to plod back and forth. My heart breaks for them. Surely if all dogs must have "licenses" we ought to mandate that owners measure up in order to have a "license" to have a pet!

So cruel. I hate cruelty to any animal, and as one reviewer suggested, people should need to have a licence to have a pet (and perhaps get it reviewed annually.) Here it is in fact a criminal offence to leave a dog unattended in a car. But what can one do about their "home" situations. That poor dog. What a cruel owner. It really does make me weep. Thanks so much for reviewing. I appreciate it greatly.
