Awesome! I admit I was worried in the beginning that your story employed an out-of-date stereotype about Germans. I'm glad to be wrong. That is just one of the many wonderful surprises your story delivered.
My one issue is I would have liked some details about the mission that was completed before the confrontation in the bar. I doubt combat, but a few words to describe it would forge anew the weak link in your tale.
