The first few lines were very interesting, and the poem continued as very apt description. I like the way your last stanza reaches out to the reader and keeps us out of the cold

Emma thanks!

You have me shivering here with your delineation of 'Cold'. You, I see, are a master of 'Free Verse'. This meets the challenge nicely and is quite an enjoyable read.

Ralf, I do thank you!

You've captured the feeling of cold very well here with some particularly imaginative imagery, such as the squeaking snow, the tinkling breath mist, and "And the calendar is stuck in the muck as wet fingers are glued to Tuesday." Hopefully the spicy chili will make you feel less chilly.

Brrrr. Thank God Amen! Amen! I hate winter, Jim. funny thing is, when I was a kid, I loved it. I skated, went sledding, skiing the whole thing Loved it. Now....As soon as Christmas is over I want Daisies, green grass and a garden. Great job.
I liked this part best:
"One can only hope that the earth
will continue its revolutions on pace
to get us past this wintery scene."
Thanks for sharing. Bob

You've certainly fulfilled all the requirements for this free challenge Jim, you're such a good free verser, and you sit in a very comfortable seat doing it. Another great write that comes alive with the descriptive handling of these narrative descriptions, well done, blessings Roy

Awesome. Writing I like this. Imagine it's so cold that the once poured hit chocolate is already slushy. Per chance do you have an heavy blanket if not some heavy long johns will certainly do ð???amazing photo to go with your poem about cold. Well done.

A very well-written free verse poem about very cold temperatures that are nearly unbearable, always make sure there is extra blankets at hand.
