You've pictured very well the writer's life. Whether a poetic, essayist, novelist much of your piece describes our day. We all pull on our experiences and attempt to put them into words that encourage or perhaps take someone on a mental journey. I particularly like this verse, "Mind swirling within a current thought,
or tiptoeing around a harsh memory, at times,
I lightly caress a deep feeling that trickles like
a small stream beginning a downward flow."

I never thought of free verse that way, like a recipe put together to please. I love how you describe your " ingredients" and what each one brings to to the dish. This is a great contest entry, best of luck.
