They are very interesting, but, arachnids aren't on my favorites list anywhere. My daughter likes tarantulas. I think that she owns one. Thanks for sharing this informative and well written work. Well done!

They aren't my favourites either. But it was between spiders and snakes, and as I hate snakes more, it had to be spiders. They proved to be quite an interesting species to research. Your daughter owns one????? I wonder if she has many girl friends! LOL. Thank you so much for reading, jeffrey, and your nice comments. Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Hi Sandra.

I was hoping for Stegosaurus but you came up with spider. This is really well done.
I like the facts you assembled for the story. I enjoyed reading this and there is some fascinating stuff in here. This is an excellent entry from you.

Robert

So much fascinating facts about spiders and the different kind. I was waiting to see if you mentioned a strand of silk having the strength of steel. They are fascinating creatures, but not well liked.

I learnt a lot about them, but I'm still not their biggest fan! I had never heard of the Diving Bell spider, but now I will no longer go swimming or paddling in any river, lol! Thank you for reading about them, Yvonne, I know most people hate them, but they were interesting to research. Thanks again, my dear friend. :)) Sandra xxx

I think they're fascinating. I was watching one one time as he threw his line from one tree to the next. I went over and stood behind him. After a minute or so, he knew I was there, and ran back up the tree. We did this little dance a few times before I left him alone. lol.

I don't know if it's a Diving Bell, but I have a similar spider in my fish pond.

Thank you so much for this lovely review and all the shiny stars, Chuck! I know I learnt a lot, and, like you, will look at them differently from now on. I'm not saying I'll like them, just appreciate them more! Lol. I know Eric will like this one, he's into the creepy-crawly things. Thanks again, my dear friend. :)) Sandy xxx

In the book of the month contest, you are up against a stacked deck and Bob will win because of biasness of Fan Story but because he asked people to vote for him.
I have friends who say this.
Don't expect to win but I hope you do.
reply by the author on 04-Aug-2020
I know that, Chuck. He was disqualified last year after it was found out what he does. It is stupid, because if you don't win fairly, it's not a win, and you can't have that same feeling of pride. Thank you, my friend. It's not the winning that counts, not when I have friends like you. Love you lots. xxx

I felt like something was crawling all over me as I was reading but your post was so interesting that I couldn't stop. I did scroll past all your pictures though, except for the peacock one, his beautiful colors caught my eye. I don't dare watch the film. Not if I want to sleep this week. I didn't realize they weren't insects and they were so useful or they have such a huge appetite. I think I found the Diving Bell Spider the most fascinating of all. Very nicely done.

That film has so many pretty spiders, you wouldn't even think they were spiders. I never watch spider films on the television, they are usually horror films, and I don't do horror in any shape or form!!
Thank you so much for the lovely six stars, Misty, and the lovely review. I'm glad you liked the peacock spider, the diving bell spider is very clever. I won't be swimming any more! lol. Thank you, my friend. Have a lovely day. :)) Sandra xxxx

You did a great job, Sandra, with this chapter. It is evident that you researched this thoroughly. The pictures are scary, but I know they are added for a reason. I had heard about the strength of the webs of some spiders, but not about the ability to stop jets in flight. Many of these are unusual. I won't use the word 'cute' even though they are--at least some of them. The peacock spider is aptly named; your description of it is great. Your husband's art is perfect. Remember the poem 'I Never Saw a Purple Cow?' Well, I hope these spiders stay waaayyyyy out in the fields away from me.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Burrowing spiders: Although spiders aren't the first creatures that come to mind when you think of creatures living beneath our feet. [feet, the Wolf Spider . . . . ] The Wolf spider and the Trapdoor spiders are just two of the many that spend most of their time underground.

You are just like me, Jan. If I see a spider, I'm off,f and fast. I thought that if I found some nice things out about spiders, I might get to like them, lol. Hmm. Thank you so much for your lovely review and that helpful bit. I've sorted that out now. Thanks, my friend. Sending you a hug. :)) Sandra xxx

This will be a fantastic book for Eric. You are embracing every aspect possible in your descriptive narrative. The spiders you have delineated are somewhat well known. Some of them for sure like the Wolf Spider (I am familiar with that one) a very scary one I found often at our cottage. The aspects of the silk they weave and that some don't, are so interesting and little known. I cannot imagine the strength of some of the silk.
I did watch the video and I am absolutely amazed at the various species and how they look. All in all your book will be smashing.
So very well done.

Ralf

Good morning, Ralf! Thank you so much for this lovely review. I wish we could put videos in books, I'm sure children would see spiders a lot differently. I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. Have a wonderful day, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

A lot of interesting information in this fine article, the boys at school when I was young put squibs and penny bombs down trapdoor spider's nests, come to think of it they were pretty cruel. This is a beautifully detailed article Sandra, I knew some of these things, but not all. Magnificent job, blessings, Toy

I'm sure many young boys did things like that. It really is a boy thing. Lol, and yes, it was cruel. But we don't think of spiders having feelings. Doing all this research has made me a lot more aware of all life on our planet. Everything God put here, He did for a reason. (I'm not sure why He gave us the fly!!) Thank you so much for another lovely review, my friend. I'm so pleased you enjoyed it. :)) Sandra xxx

Absolutely wonderful, Sandra!
My favorite chapter yet!
I adored the poem, and this particular was so education. Have always felt spider get a bad "spin" on things... :) I didn't know the information re: Antarctica and love learning about how hummingbirds utilize part of a spider's web for their own nests!
Lucky grandson!

Thank you for sharing!

Thank you so very much, Diane, for the six stars and wonderful review. I have to admit I'm a bit nervous at how the spider will be received knowing how most have a real fear of them. I hope they are all like you and just enjoy the facts. Thank you for being so encouraging, my friend. :)) Sandra xx
