You learn something new every day and today the honor came from you! I thought that after all of the times I've been to the zoo and after all of the Eagles I've seen, (what a great pic. with the babies!) I never knew that legend about the city in Mexico, or about the flag... I never noticed! Eric is going to love this! :)

Wow, I learned a lot about eagles from you. I can imagine that this way of teaching is a very successful tool. Using a poem is awesome. It gives a love for poetry and helps to memorize. I like it. Your writing style is very well done. -January L.

Sandra,
How very fascinating! But then, why should I be surprised? Every word you write DRIPS with fascination!! Every time, every word. *smile*
One note:
--> by searching for an eagle (seated) upon a cactus eating a snake.
I enjoyed!

This was amazingly well done, Sandra. I enjoy your hubby's drawing at the beginning and then the photo placed in the middle. I really liked how you covered the information on the eagle, initially I was asking myself what you would chose for the letter 'E' and was thinking elephant but this was much better. There are many stories, legends, beliefs among the Native North Americans about many of the animals and birds, but the eagle is a prominent and sacred bird. I am honored to have the eagle as one of my two totems that I received in a totem vision quest. Did you know that it is against the law in both Canada and the USA to hunt the eagle, and unless you are native and have your elder's permission you can not have an eagle feather for smudging? Very much enjoyed and appreciated, big hugs, big smiles from behind the mask, be well, be safe.

I think it's against the law to kill them anywhere now. Thank goodness. I was very interested in the fact the eagle is one of your totems. Mine is the bear. I love finding out about these things and was thrilled to be a bear. I must admit, if I'm lucky enough to come back to the world again, I would like to be an eagle. How wonderful it would be to fly up high. You've taught me a few things in your review, too. I didn't know about the native and taking eagle feathers, it's amazing how much there is to find out about these gorgeous creatures. Thank you so much, my friend. I'm delighted you enjoyed this one. Sending a hug! :)) Sandra xxx

You are so very welcome Sandra. I guess I was blessed with two totems- the eagle and the wolf, from what I understand it is unusual to have two, but that's just me. I really enjoyed reading this one. Be well, be safe.

searching for an eagle sat on a cactus eating a snake. Sitting or upon
Thank you for sharing about this Bald Eagle. We have them here and they are truly majestic creatures. I was worried they would grab my chicks and chickens, but not one ever did. I guess they find enough food to keep them happy by the reads and byways.

I wouldn't mind coming back as an eagle! We had them in Spain when we lived there and they would take our cats, and also the puppies from the puppy rescue up our lane. Little rogues, but they were thinking of their babies, so I forgave them eventually. :(( Thank you so much for reading my letter E, Drew, and your nice comments. I went in and changed it to 'upon' thanks for that!! Have a lovely week, my friend. :0 Sandra xxx

Beautifully written Sandra, I relate to this most wondrously great post. Well done, blessings, Roy

Good Morning, Sandra!
Such a well-crafted and educational chapter. Your grandson is one luck fella!
I had to smile when I read that your letter "E" is about eagles as next door to our home is a subdivision called "Eagles' Landing" as we have a more than one pair of eagles nesting close by! Pure Michigan!
Thank you for sharing!

How wonderful to have them nesting nearby, Diane. We had them when we lived in Spain, they were little rogues, though. The would take our cats off, and the puppy sanctuary close by also 'lost' a few. But, they are magnificent creatures to watch as they fly. Thank you so much for reading my letter E, I really appreciate your thoughts on them. Stay safe, my friend and have a lovely week. :)) Sandra xxx

Great work on this, Sandra! Your poem works really well. A lot of rhyming poems have awkward or forced rhymes, but this one flows wonderfully. I found the eagle facts interesting as well, I didn't know that about them seeing five colors. I think it's great that you're doing this for your grandson; this seems like a fantastic way to help him learn, by making it enjoyable.
Have a great day,
-BT
