Loop Poem: One Last Look...42 total reviews

Dorothy Gale of the Wizard of Oz fame said it best I think, Diane.
"There's no place like home."
Home is where you make it, it's where your heart will forever be.
I have lived in fifteen different states and yet, I always wind up coming back here, to Ohio and the "Heart Of It All."
Your poem is a truly poignant poetic proclamation portraying pure love. It is also a written testament to long lasting, life-long relationships.
Bravo, best wishes to you in the Loop Poem Poetry Contest.

Oh my, you have me on the verge of tears with this beautiful loop poem. The picture teams up with your message so well. I have been feeling nostalgic lately, and this poem taps right into that.
I enjoyed your loop poem form where your last word was the same word you started with. Too bad you didn't start each stanza wih the loop word or incorporate it in there somehow. Then it would be the perfect loop. No worries, though. I like what you did here. Very creative. The variations make life interesting.
Best wishes in the contest.

Hello Joy!
First of all, I am incredibly honored by your exceptional rating and thoughtful review. I, too, have been feeling very nostalgic as of late thinking of my grandparents who were, indeed, farmers, and my parents as well.
Secondly, THANK YOU for suggesting that I continue the last word of the last line of each stanza on to the beginning line of the following stanza. I DID IT! Would love to hear what you think... This is only the second Loop Poem I have ever attempted, and for some reason, my head wasn't on straight!
So pleased you enjoyed and my words resonated with you. Smiles all around.
Take Care,
diane

This is beautiful and is so true... when we hand the reigns of a past that we tenderly build over to strangers there is often a moment of lament... another winner... yours diana

Bless all you poets who bring light into the house. This is so sweet with satisfaction of a life well lived. I love mature love as this is where I am in life, rocking away and writing...
Good memories of time and place sustain us as life slips away, granting us a little more happiness. A winner for the Loop Poetry Contest!
All my best,
Sal :+)

Oh, you've done great with your flow on this one, Lady -- great job! :) You know how you struggle with acrostics...? well, Loops are my bane....ugh. I've got one almost done, haven't decided to throw it out to the wolves yet...LOL! :) ;) I especially like your choice of topic....the poem is joined in a chain throughout as are your events in the lives of those moving on together....great job! :) :) Thanx for sharing and best of luck in the contest! :) ;) Yvette

A very well-written loop poem. We work hard through our lifetime and gathering many treasures we cherish. But there comes a time that we also must say we are done and give over to someone else.

Your artwork touched my soul. There is such pathos here. Memories are sometimes all we have left. My grandmother's farm was sold and a housing development built there. My fondest memories were of this place, but I would never go there - for it would not be the same. This poem is wonderful!!
