Oh no, poor Mildred... but wait and see...
wringing it like an old dish-cloth - dishcloth could be a single word here.
lol, I knew it. Super ending to this instalment. Should prove fun for the final in the trilogy.
excellent stuff.

Hi, Sandra;
Such a lovely way to end the story. I can't wait to see the adventures these two time-travelers will have together.
I'm sad to see the end to this enjoyable storyline, but I know you will have something new soon.

Thank you so much for the 6 stars, my dear friend! I'm so pleased you enjoyed my ending. I'm going to have some fun with these two in the next book. Can you just imagine our Mildred? Oh Lordy, no! LOL. The new book will begin soon. Thank you for all your lovely reviews, my friend. :)) Sandra xxxx

I'm sooooo glad my new laptop arrived in time so I could do this chapter justice. My spare keyboard has been on the blink, so reviewing has been a nightmare.
This ending was perfect. First you push us all to the depth of despair when you realistically portray a woman devistated with grief, and then you fill us with happiness with Mildred's revival.
I bet we would all like to revive ourselves back to our early thirties - so clever, and a perfect ending.
I can't wait to start reading the third book, and look forward to buying the second. This would make such a wonderful TV series. Well done!

What a fabulous review, Alexis, thank you so very much!!! I'm so pleased you liked this ending. I couldn't let Mildred go, she's too important, and such a lovely lady. The readers would have been really cross with me if I'd killed her off permanently. LOL Big hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxxx

I knew Mildred would die, but you turned it all around and brought her back to some sort of life so she will still be in the story. Brilliant! Best of all, she'll travel with Veronica... yay! :)

Bless your heart, thank you so much for the 6 stars!!! I couldn't let Mildred go, but she was getting too old, so this worked out well. That is the joy of fantasy and time travel, I can almost do what I want with my character. I'm over the moon you liked it, my friend. Big hugs :)) Sandra xxxx

I'm glad you liked it, Nancy. Thank you so very much for the lovely review and all the stars. I think the PTB will bring them back at the same instant they leave, just like in this book, so the children won't miss their mother and Mildred. Thank you for spotting that mistake, my friend. Big hugs Sandra xxxx

Are you saying Mildred will be in the flesh? I thought she was a spirit.

Absolutely! The powers have powers that we don't know about, yet! It's such fun writing in fantasy, anything is possible. :)) And, don't forget, no one knew about Mildred before Veronica went back the first time, why was that? What had she done before? Did she even exist? Just a few little clues for you. :)) xxxx

Okay! I just missed it I guess. LOL write on. Well done!

That was a great last chapter, having only read the last two. In your reply you said you had received death threats if you killed off Mildred's character. And wham, first thing I read "I don't know how long I stood there looking down at Mildred as she lay in the white, satin-lined coffin". I thought you like living dangerously :), and then "I could see plainly it was Mildred ... but she was much younger." What a great cliff-hanger, but then I have to remember that this story involves time travel, so anything is possible. I hope your fans forgive you. Dave

LOL, I hope they will too. Time-travel, and fantasy allows us to do what we want, so much nicer. I'm going to have a lot of fun in the next book with these two. :)) Thank you so very much for the 6 lovely stars, Dave, and your fabulous review. That was so nice of you! I hope you will read the next book when I start it. Big hugs Sandra xx

Beautiful prose in this very somber final chapter. I love the line "how come some women look so beautiful when they cry" it made me feel like the character was being comforted. You paint such a great picture of the moment and realistically portray how time moves so fast when we say our final goodbyes to loved ones. Excellent.

What a fantastic chapter Sandra, one could actually feel the anguish and sorrow that Veronica was feeling. You provided great details regarding how Mildred looked both in the coffin and later when she returned to advise Veronica that she would be her travel partner. That by the way was a fantastic touch from the 'powers to be'. Initially there was such sadness then there was immense joy. A great chapter of emotions and closure. Very well done. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, my friend. A great book, I look forward to number three. Smiles and big hugs.
