This is well written and easy to follow. I particularly liked - seeds of doubt are planted by the shadows spawn. We all have felt those seeds of doubt that we have to overcome.

Thanks so much for the super review and marvellous comments,

This is a very good entry into the two stanza's poem, I am sure most can identify with the lonely feeling in that darkest moment just before dawn. I wish you the best of luck. Mary

A good contest entry. The rhymes don't seem to match. First and second lines in the stanza the two and two lines in the second stanza. Maybe I don't understand this style.

It's a sort of risppetto with too many syllables, thanks for the great review,

A nicely penned poem of darkness and light that I enjoyed reading. I feel blessed to know that I'm not alone ever. "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases." A fine entry into the contest.

Beautifully written! You draw your reader into a place of familiarity one would prefer not to know, but out of which is deepened faith. The ending was most powerful and an excellent triumph...'But mercy greets the dawn, on beams of brightness lay'!!

Beautiful. It is amazing that it always seems most lonely and hopeless in the dark. When the light comes its almost like a promise fulfilled and we know we are going to make it. I bet this is universal. Good work. Good luck in the contest.

Yes, I've felt this way before many times; I have clinical depression. I enjoyed reading your two-stanza poem. I especially liked the phrase "shadow's spawn." Clever. Good work here.

This two-stanza poem, Complete Isolation, seems to use the metaphor of dark and light as those times of spiritual vulnerability that rise when our way is darkened. The light brings clarity and renews faith. Nice.

This is a great poem. Without the blessing of hope and the faithfulness of our Lord, we might well not be able to make it through another day. Blessings, Patricia
