Dean, are you sure you weren't at my family's last year's Thanksgiving Day dinner? Those faces look awfully familiar, like looking in a mirror. An impressive poem that tells quite a story. You are very good, my friend (fiend).

I may have been, Vic, however, I can't recall, lot a lot of other things that go on in my head, LOL.

    Thanks for the review.

I would suggest having your head examined, but about that time they'd find some unexplained anomaly that would just create further issues. So, take care of that head, there's a lot of good stuff in there.

This is great, and I've got to use a six! This reminds me of some of the Nathaniel Hawthorne stories like "Young Goodman Brown," who discovers so many are possessed by the devil and then he sees evil faces everywhere. The young man in your poem undergoes a lot of temptation. He's taken for quite a ride, and the Devil promises him everything. Even though he doesn't give in--the thought and temptation are always with him. Excellent AABB rhyme, and wonderful job of creating atmosphere. judi

Ummm...Don't eat pizza before going to bed. Excellent rhythm and rhyme, Mr. Scratches's tour of the Inferno's prerequisites. This may sound strange, but it reminds me of A Christmas Carol, Scrooge's voyage with the ghost of Christmas future. Just tell your first devil to stop slapping his head. He reminds me of Curly.

Chili, how 'bout chili? Think that'd be okay, Ed?

My dream was very Christmas Carol-like. He took my hand and we flew, his massive leathery wings trailing smoke, flame and ash wherever we went.

    It was awesome!

    Thanks for the review, Ed.

This is yet another comprehensive poem that the author has created with this piece of work. This is macabre and interesting. This is frightening. Well done yet again.

This was so enjoyable to read. You surely got your message through. Oh how the demons try and take your soul, but no matter what they do (and I loved your little animations) it will be God that gets us through. Well done! Very creative! Pleasant Screams your way lol! Blessings! Pat :)

The presentation is mind blowing, stop you in your tracks enticing. The dialogue is smooth, rhythmic inside an intense verbal back and forth battler for the choice between good and evil. In the last stanza, we realize that temptation for self destruction on ourselves and other is always present, and faith sometimes is hard to hold onto to. However, the rewards it brings outshines anything this dark King can deliver.

What a multimedia romp! Simply outstanding. The verses flowed with imagery and carefully crafted words. It is not better to rule in hell than serve in heaven! I think this is probably in the top ten I have read on here. Great job.

Sometimes I sense that he's still near,

lurking, preying upon my fear.

And when that happens, without fail,

God sends the rain, His soothing veil...

what a poem!! You never cease to amaze me, Dean, with your vivid imagination -- enough to give one nightmares.

Wow. This is spectacular! Amazing epic piece illustrating the nature of temptation and evil and the simplicity of faith. This underscores the need to be aware of the evil that surrounds us. Acknowledging it and shinning a light on it only makes us aware and on guard. Yet, there are those that question it as being evil in its own right. How wrong they are. This is the poem of the month if there ever was one. mikey

You're far too kind, Mikey, but don't think for one moment that I don't appreciate it.

    Thanks so much for the thoughtful review, my talented friend. Much appreciated! :}

Another exceptional piece. It just goes to show you that no matter how much you are promised in this life, you have to remain vigilant and loyal to Heaven. The afterlife is the icing on the cake and you'll never get there if you follow a dark path.
