this reads as though it fits right into where the sidewalk ends. That's how wonderful it is. The rhythm is great shell selverthe word choices leave plenty to the imagination and yet paint a great picture.

He wasn't biting off a limb
of someone who had bothered him,
but blowing bubbles big and small --
not very frightful, not at all.
Great verse I love showing what the imagination conveys vs the reality.

I love the story in this poem - the child's initial fear of the monster, which turns out to be someone not to be feard but made friends. Great poem!

Oh my gosh, Brooke, Sawyer has GROWN! I'm off site for a couple of months and you have a giant! LOL
Love your enjambment, it works so beautifully with your imagery-loaded descriptions of the "monster." Love the ending too. You are so good at creating clever twists and powerful messages that are so poetically disguised as not to be preachy. Excellent - Cally :)

What a delightful poem! It is written in a voice that reminds me a bit of Dr.Seuss. You certainly have a knack for writing children's poems. :)

This is such an interesting piece. It has a great rhythm and it's a very fun piece, I found myself smiling.
Sawyer seems to be getting so big.
I do hope you have considered publishing your poems into a book. Even if it is only for you family it would be well worth it. You can do this using Create Space for very little money and effort. Also if you do, let me know, I'd love to have a copy of your works.
Great work and good luck.

Six stars for that ever-so-cute facey. He is adorable. Terrific poem, Gran. One of the best for Sawyer. I really lived every line as he stood and looked at his big green friend blowing those bubbles. Well done. I enjoyed. luv jada
