Ahhh, how touching. Now I feel guilty for all the mean things I said about the squirrels that eat my fruit trees up. You tell this so good and it should be a children's story for sure. Thanks.

I'm so glad you like it. WE have deer who decimated our grapes, so we probably feel about them the way you fee about the squirrels. Thanks for the review.

This is a beautiful well written story. Your words tell s a fantastic tale of both survival and acceptance. There is such a deep analogy in this simply written story. I find this to be an exceptional story with a profound impact. I love squirrels and your story presents wonderful imagery.

The tail being torn off was the reason for the story. My granddaughters were sadly telling it to me. Thank you for the review.

Hi Author,

This is a delightful tale written from Skuirelly's perspective. Too bad he lost his beautiful tail but he remains just the same cutie for the girls to enjoy watching. We had a squirrel that stole the bird fee my late husband put out. He named the squirrel Bandit! Well done and good luck in the contest....blessings, chey

I very much enjoyed reading this delightful little story, told from the vantage-point of a squirrel. The story-line is quite amusing and well-crafted. It flows very smoothly, with good imagery and characterization, from the beginning to the sentimental ending. Good job --- and good luck in the contest!

Sweet little tail [I mean tale]. I've often wondered what a squirrel's ego is based on. It's fortunate that he made it at all--life is far more important than a tail. That you wrote a positive story of the kindness of the three friends is encouraging. Well done. kone

Squirrels are cute and I love to watch them but we have so many here that we can't have a garden because of them. We found a baby once and kept him till he was old enough to be set free. When he was a house pet he was fun but once he was set free we never saw him again. I guess if one lost his tail he'd be easy to spot. I enjoyed reading your story from the point of view of the squirrel. It should do well in the contest.

Thank you for the comments and stars. We actually saw him last week on the other side of town That is, unless another little guy had the same misfortune. He hasn't been around the three girl's house lately because they have two pet chickens who eat his treats.

explore further and further >>> for distance, the spelling needs to be "farther."

The paragraph beginning "Unbeknownst" is indented, but the others are not.

The paragraph beginning "The three girls who live..." has a formatting problem. "The" is at the end of the line.

Other paragraphs are indented, some are not, so there's a formatting problem.

The story, however, is very cute and worthy of 5 stars, even with the formatting glitches.

Sometimes we find we can move on in life
without that one thing in which we have
the most pride. Do you suppose God plans
it that way to teach us to depend upon
Him? I think this story carries real lessons
for us all.

good luck in the contest
love,
jan

I really enjoyed your story. We had a tail-less squirrel. It was fascinating to watch. I haven't seen it for a while. I believe children will enjoy this story too.
