Tis the season to be jolly. I love the rhythm your poem sets. It's a fantastic and realistic piece of work. I loved it. I give it 5 stars for how descriptive it is, and how jolly it made me feel. Good Luck gem

Beth - Your poem is beautiful. Is this a format you made up? If so, you did a great job on it. I like the longer lines intermixed with the shorter ones because it reads really well that way. I like the rhyming of it too. Kat

Beth - Are you going to give it a name? That would be nice. I loved the format and how it sounded. Kat

I'd like to name it but I do have a clue what would be appropriate. Any suggestions?

Beth - I know one lady named hers after her granddaughter and bridges so it was lexibridges or something like that. I don't know why, but I keep thinking about the '7-11 beat' of your poem which really impressed me. I don't have all the proper names for what things are called in poems. Is meter the beat? I never heard of so many styles of poems until I joined FS. I've always only written rhyming poems from my heart. I wrote acrostics, but didn't know they had a name and a couple of free style, which I didn't realize were called that. Sorry for my ignorance. Kat

Oops - just looked again and it was seven and twelve lines. Kat

Such a lovely tribute to the season, the time of year, and the presence of joy in so many hearts. So many shows and Christmas stories try to find a way to capitalize on the "Christmas spirit" and find clever ways to explain it - I love that you chose to say that it comes from us recognizing His love. Well done.

Thank you so much for the review and the nice comments. Yes, for the stores, it is all about exploiting the season for money but still they are quite beautifully decorated at this time of year.

Excellent. Nicely done and a joyous description of how people behave during this special season. The last verse is my favorite.
'The heart of God was bleeding
'Twas love this world was needing'
So appropriate! His heart still bleeds but hope stills exists in the Babe of Bethlehem. Well done.

"The heart of God was bleeding. T'was love this world was needing, and the Christ child that he gave us" this is as good as anything I have seen tonight!

Tis the season. Your poem has so caught the spirit of Christmas. Food, family friends. Shopping, gift, glitizy wrapping paper. Singing carols, people laughing and giving praise to the Christ child who was born for us. I enjoyed this so much. Good luck in the contest.
