I am glad I ran across this poem. It has been a long time since I participated on this site. As of now all but one miner has been rescued. Great poem, reminds us all to be grateful for what we have knowing that at anytime it could be gone.

This is a very moving poem and even now we watch with tears of joy as these men are rescued. I think this well-rhymed and timely poem will do well in the contest.

You did a terrific poem about this amazing situation, by this hour they are almost all safe and the whole world is celebrating.
sixty nine days underground
without sight without sound
they work franticaly up above
way down here we feel the love

What a devastating event. I'm so proud of these courageous miner's who thrust aside their fears every day and leave a family to seek the money to sustain them. Very much a hero. Thanks for sharing the story!

This is the first poem I've read about the trapped miners. As I write this review on 10/13/10 (almost 2PM EST), the eighteenth miner has been brought up alive (15 to go). The whole world is watching. You did a good job in sharing this dramatic moment in history. Just one small spag: "in this hole were[where] I am resident." Best wishes, Hector

This is such a lovely fitting tribute to those rescuers who have succeeded in their mission. The poem reflects the voices from below where despair turns to hope, turns to joy. Excellent throughout. Paul.

Hello my friend. First of all let me thank you for sharing this poem. It is so well written, speaking through the mind of the trapped miner. Your well placed verses show the strength in this man's being. Haven't they started bring these men out??? Seems I heard that they have. Great job...Carrie

A wonderful poem, beautifully written. As I watched the news in the last hour I prayed and tried to put myself not only in the miner's shoes, but in the shoes of wives, mother's, children, grandparents and just old neighbors who are standing this midnight vigil. I find it impossible to do. Absolute hell on earth and hell in that dark hole for sixty-nine days. I pray that we who watch from a distance, who are not involved personally, will learn from this what real true faith and trust means. How blatantly we take life for granted! Thank you for writing this poem. It is well done and sincerely offered.
